tammycookblogsbooks5 Stars Out Of 5develop community amongst creatives who love the Word of GodJanuary 19, 2017tammycookblogsbooksQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5ScriptureDoodle was created by April Knight. The website says its mission is "to inspire connection with the Father, develop community amongst creatives who love the Word of God, and resource that community with the tools to enhance their gifts and talents."
The basic idea of ScriptureDoodle is to help the reader think on and memorize scripture by writing it out along with drawing and doodling. I received two books, ScriptureDoodle and ScriptureDoodle God's Promises. As soon as I opened the pages of the ScriptureDoodle books I thought of the Fun Pads I enjoyed as a kid. Each page of the ScriptureDoodle books is unique. They have devotions that can be done once a day for six weeks. But the author says to work at your own pace. I did read through each one for this review but in reality I think I will do about one a week. A few aspects of the physical books I like are that the pages are thick and the corners are rounded, something little that makes them different that most books out there. I think the devotionals will work for those who are creative and those who are not. April gives lots of examples and ideas of how to do the doodles along the way so the reader is never without inspiration. I recommend the ScriptureDoodle books as a great way to learn scripture and being creative while doing it. I was provided a complimentary review copy of both books. I was not required to write positive reviews. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255.

Deana4 Stars Out Of 5Nice DevotionalDecember 17, 2016DeanaQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I really enjoyed this beautifully designed devotional. At the very beginning it gives you a list of items you will need to use the book and get the full experience from it. It even encourages you to share your work online so others can follow along. What a great idea to journal with others as you dig deep into His word. The author includes scriptures that you can memorize and then color to enhance the words on your heart. There are many different subjects the author has included and each one made me feel at peace. I enjoy these type of books as they are relaxing . One particular subject I especially enjoyed was titled "Through The Psalms." It asks you to go through the book of Psalms and choose a verse and then pick a word or phrase. As you read the phrase you are to start drawing what imagine you see as you read it. I am a visual person , so for me it made the phrase come to life. I encourage everyone to pick up a copy and start your journey in this six weeks devotional and be creative.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from LitFuse. The review is my own opinion and I was not compensated for it.
Mrs ARS4 Stars Out Of 5Fun and UniqueDecember 14, 2016Mrs ARSQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Scripture Doodle is a different kind of adult coloring book. It is a six-week devotional that focuses on a scripture for each day that you become artistic with. You can use pictures or words in your ventures. There are also additional activities on each page to help with your creativity, your thought process, or just to focus more attention on the scripture. The doodle pages are all very different, some are more filled in and others are awaiting your masterpieces. This is a cute and clever idea, both for those that are artistic and those who are not. This is something that stands out from the crowd of coloring books out there..
I received a free copy of this book from Litfuse. I was not required to post a positive review and all opinions expressed are my own.
Seasons of GraceAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Scripture Doodle - Awesome Creative Worship DevotionalDecember 13, 2016Seasons of GraceAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Are you a creative person? Maybe you used to be but have lost some of your creativity. Probably the thing that really touched my heartstrings, about these books, was the background story that inspired the making of them. April explains that although she frequently created art for clients, her passion and creativity were at times squelched by the need to make a living. Hence, these books came about, after feeling like God was calling her to work towards creativity in her every day life, and not just under the pressures of a job. Being a creative person myself, I can relate to the constant pressure to create for others while not often doing creative things just for fun.
This book is a fun, worshipful way to release your creative side. It is designed to be used as a 6 week devotional experience, creatively expressing yourself to God; but it can also be used at your own pace. Although, it was written in a chronological manner, you can randomly select pages you would like to work on if that's what you want to do. Even if you are not an artist, per say, this book is for you, because it is about expression and worship, not perfection.
As you open the book there is an introduction page, a how to use it page, and a basic tips and materials page. April has equipped us with all we need to know, like lettering tips, borders, and other drawing ideas. This book can be an educational tool. When you get started the pages are pretty much drawn for you, and you use your creativity to enhance them. As you move through the book, April allows more open space for you to draw and create using your personal style.
Personally, I wouldn't consider myself an artist, although I enjoying drawing and doodling some. But this book is attractive and easy, and an awesome way to worship through art. I really like it. It would make a great gift, or for personal use. April has done an amazing job!
I received this book free courtesy of Litfuse Publicity group to review. I was not required to review positively and all opinions are my own.
