The James Code helps believers go from knowing about God to living for God.
Bestselling author of The Joshua Code and The Jesus Code, O.S. Hawkins is back with a new book that is all about putting your faith into action. The James Code is practical, personal and action-packed straight from one of the most popular books of the Bible.
Once readers have devoted themselves to Scripture memory in The Joshua Code, and have equipped themselves to give answers in The Jesus Code, The James Code challenges readers to give feet to their faith. Hawkins gives applicable truth from the book of James emphasizing that an effective Christian life is not about faith and works, but is about faith that works.
As with The Joshua Code and The Jesus Code, all royalties will go to Mission:Dignity, whose mission supports retired pastors and their wives or widows who have faithfully served Gods people and now find themselves struggling to meet even basic needs.
For more than 20 years, O. S. Hawkins served pastorates at the First Baptist Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and in Dallas, Texas. He is president of GuideStone Financial Resources, which serves 250,000 pastors, church staff, missionaries, doctors, and other workers of various Christian organizations with their retirement needs. He is the author of more than 30 books and preaches regularly at Bible conferences, evangelism conferences, and churches across the nation.

52 Scripture Principles for Putting Your Faith Into Action
By O. S. Hawkins
Another excellent book from O. S. Hawkins, the author of The Jesus Code and The Joshua Code. Hawkins takes the 108 verses of James, written by the half-brother of Jesus, and turns it into a 52-chapter Bible study about how faith that works is what James was talking about. Each chapter is a study of the book of James verse by verse with a section at the end of each, titled "Just do it!", which is a challenge to practice what you read. You will get a understanding of James that may be different from other interpretations of the book. The study of James is a great lesson about how faith and works go together.
You will learn about stress, discrimination, temptation and how words as well as works are important, just some of the information found in this study of James.
I found the book very easy to understand and enjoyed it. The book has a wealth of information for anyone who is looking for a detailed study. You will want to read each chapter slowly and stop and think about what you read.
I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook Bloggers book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commissions 16 CFR, Part 255

I enjoy it because the weekly devotional is usually about a few days long and provokes much thought and can literally be studied on a weekly basis to help us actually be doers of the word and not merely hearers.
I also love the way the book looks and feels. It has a very luxurious feel. The copy I have is a hardback with a cushioned cover.

This is the third book in Hawkins' scripture series. The first two are The Joshua Code, and the Jesus Code. I own the later one and really loved it; it was the main reason I chose this book to review. Consisting of 52 chapters, each one lists scripture from the book of James, and then goes on to give a short commentary on them. The book itself is pocket-sized. It has the look and feel of leather, and is an easy read. I could see this incorporated into a daily devotional.
This would be a great reference for teachers or pastors who are currently studying James. We have been studying James in our small group, so I love having it as an extra guide. If you are looking for a last minute Christmas gift for your pastor, teacher, or friend, this would make a great addition. I recommend this book, and look forward to seeing Hawkins write more books in this series.
"We are deceiving ourselves if we think we can go through life speaking with a forked tongue. Our words are a barometer for what is really in our hearts. If our speech is inconsistent, simply washing the mouth out with soap won't work. The remedy must reach much deeper, to the heart." pg 135
