Tell us a little about yourself. I am currently associate professors and Chair of Religious Studies at Trinity Western University.
What was your motivation behind this project? In my study of the patristic era I had become increasingly uncomfortable with the way the formation of the New Testament canon had been presented in some evangelical treatments. Generally speaking, this history is often presented detached from the context of the life of the church.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope readers will grow to appreciate the Spirit's work in the life of the early church.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? My influences range from teachers I have had in the past, current friends and colleagues, and some well-known historical theologians like Jean Danielou, Jaroslav Pelikan, Harry Gamble, Lee M. McDonald & D.H. Williams.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Always read with a mind to listen, dialogue and learn.
