Sheryl Major5 Stars Out Of 5A Scientific Investigation of the Old TestamentJune 17, 2016Sheryl MajorQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This is a wonderful text that puts a stop to all the naysayers who would do everything and anything to prove the Bible as nothing more than a mythology. It is a scholarly text, well documented and well cited. It deals with the reliability of the text, grammar, vocabulary, history and religion of the Bible. Since Dr Wilson learned upwards of 45 languages having to do with the era and people groups that would have influenced the writers of the OT, he was well qualified to tackle this issue. The author follows an "evidentiary model:" i.e., he follows the Laws of Evidence as applied to documents admitted to courts of law. This revised edition by Dr Edward Young leaves intact Dr Wilson's work, but updates the style with an introductory chapter, additional footnotes to the originals, appendices, and new discoveries and information that further strengthen Dr Wilson's conclusions.. As earlier noted this is a scholarly book, but any motivated pastor or Bible teacher, or any other intelligent, interested party, who wants to know if there are scholarly grounds to conclude that the Bible can be trusted should find this a welcome addition to their library.
