Excellent read for girls

Lindsay Martin and her three close eighth grade friends had an amazing summer and anticipate a wonderful school year. Lindsay is a Christian, her three bffs are not, although they all attended a Christian summer camp and are somewhat open to Lindsay's youth group. Trouble starts when they begin sleepovers at Samantha's house and play the game Truth or Dare. Samantha and Lindsay's other two friends, Kelly and Macy, pressure Lindsay over a period of weeks to accept a dare. Lindsay realizes she is being manipulated and wants to go God's way, but doesn't want to lose her friendships either. The crisis comes when Lindsay must choose between a dare that is unquestioningly wrongââ¬âeven illegal and the continued friendship of her three friends. What will she do? The book offers two alternate endings, one where Lindsay resists the peer pressure and another where she complies.
The author gives a realistic glimpse of life as a fairly well accepted middle school girl trying to walk the Christian walk and still remain accepted by her friends. Truth or Dare is an excellent read for girls aged 10 to 14 with a situational storyline about the intricacies of friendship and middle school peer pressure.
