SChomeschoolingmom5 Stars Out Of 5Excellent resource packetSeptember 4, 2014SChomeschoolingmomQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I love this curriculum. It is easy to use and implement. Everything is in order and is easily torn out and added to my daughters portfolio. My only suggestion would be to make it into one big workbook (for convenience only). I am a first time homeschooling parent and this curriculum is very easy to follow. It teaches your child the method to the madness of math that sometimes we as adults we forget. For example, today my daughter was learning about adding nine to a number (9 + 1 = 10). For some people, it is easy to just add the two numbers but this curriculum provided a lesson on other ways to come up with your answer. Add 10 and then subtract 1 from your new answer. This may seem like this is the hard way but when the student gets to 4th grade and they have to add 35 + 39 using mental math, the student will be able to just round 39 to 40 and then take 1 off of their answer. I have a daughter doing this lesson in 4th grade right now and she is amazed at how fast she can add two digit numbers together without having to rack her brain over it...Thanks Saxon for making this homeschooling mom's life that much easier.

Trish5 Stars Out Of 5February 1, 2003TrishThis has been perfect for me and my daughter who is in the third grade. I highly recommend buying the "manipulatub" that goes along with this set. My daughter has loved the hands-on approach to math. With constant repetition in temperature, number patterns, word problems, coin counting, and the calendar, my daughter has an excellent foundation in mathematics. There are wonderful activities (we baked brownies in one lesson) that really drive home the information. The lesson plans are so easy, any parent can do it. Each lesson has a list of items you will need. It's a very user-friendly series. Math was not my best subject in school and now I'm finding that I look forward to math time. This is so much easier than Abeka math. If you are homeschooling or if you want to supplement your child's math, I highly recommend the Saxon series.

Confidence Builder5 Stars Out Of 5Saxon Math 3February 20, 2020Confidence BuilderQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5My grandson completes these assignments with very littke need of assistance. we use the repetitive elementary sheets as Math drills and i can see it is building his confidence ( compared to other programs that need lots of explanation and can be frustrating). We like Saxon!

Homeschool Mom5 Stars Out Of 5ThankfulApril 13, 2021Homeschool MomQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Saxon is an amazing math curriculum! Our children have learned so much! Our oldest has used Saxon from Kindergarten to Algebra 2, and I believe it promotes an understanding of math that far surpasses what is provided in public schools. This set was purchased for our 3rd grader. I often recommend Saxon math to friends!
