I purchased this set to accompany my 6 year olds introduction to Saxon math 2. This year is the first time I have used Saxon math and I am a fan. These manipulatives work wonderfully with the lessons and I am glad I did not have to collect them myself at the start of the year. Since we started with math 2 we wont be using some of the items, however I am grateful for the items we have used so far. The quality seems good and everything in the set still looks brand new after half a year of use.

super complete kit, good quality and fun for the kids

This is great for our Saxon math curriculum but i think it would make a great set for any math curriculum as well.

I'm pretty sure it's not the kit sold by Saxon, which is what the product listing implies. The balance in this kit is so poorly designed that it's barely usable. The sides of the balance barely move (I have to push down the heavier side most of the time), and since the purpose is to visually illustrate concepts of weight, this is really disappointing.

All of the other parts are ok. It's hard to go wrong with cheap plastic counting toys. Would be 4 or 5 stars if it weren't for the balance issue. It's a good value, but I would have chosen to pay more for a kit with better quality parts if I had realized that this was not the kit sold by Saxon. I'm thinking about trying to return it.
