We switched this year to Saxon after using another curriculum for several years. The other program was good but as my daughter got older, I realized she was missing quite a bit of the basics. I didn't want it it become an issue later on so I decided to look for another curriculum. There is more work for her to do with this program but I am more confident she is receiving a more solid base.

Each day there is a warm up exercise, a lesson, then mixed practiced of what has been covered up until that point. So it is constantly reviewing what has been learned. The other program we used didn't do that so I realized my daughter was forgetting some of the concepts she learned.

This is an easy to follow program that does not always require direct adult supervision.

I was very pleased with the kit. This kit makes it easy for homeschoolers to get what they need at a great price.

Has great building blocks...each lesson builds off the last lesson. There is always a review in each exercise so past lessons are not forgotten.

Saxon math 6/5 made my daughter's test scores rise dramatically. Every day there are math problems from a previous lesson and the lesson number is written very small underneath so if your child misses a problem you know where to go for more review. My child missed 15 problems per lesson and finally at the end of the year she started missing three to five problems per lesson. The review questions that Saxon includes in their lessons everyday were essential and the timed tests helped her tremendously. I would highly recommend this product.
