This book was so good that I read it twice! It covers the development of evangelical thought from its earliest inception to the 21st century, but is primarily concerned with the 19th and 20th centuries. This book is easy to read and understand and shows us how we got to where we are.

Both sides of many thought issues are discussed, which leads the reader to further research into Church history. The author describes his own struggles and conclusions which have formed his present day beliefs. He shows how honest, open-minded consideration results in the gleaning of the good from our evangelical past.
