Product Description

Many Salvationists may still recognize the name, but fewer appreciate the influence that Brengle had on the development of The Salvation Army's holiness theology. Dr. Rightmire has written a theological reassessment of Brengle's thoughts and life to reacquaint you with the legacy of this holiness apostle.

Author/Artist Review

Author: R. David Rightmire, Ph.D.
Located in: Wilmore, KY
Submitted: November 15, 2013

Tell us a little about yourself.  Professor of Bible and Theology at Asbury University since 1985.

What was your motivation behind this project?  To provide an account of the life and thought of Samuel Logan Brengle, a major figure in the late 19th and early 20th century holiness movement.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  The work has in mind the general reader, and offers not only the necessary biographical information about this 'holiness prophet,' but also systematizes Brengle's theology, drawn from his numerous writings. A comprehensive bibliography of primary and secondary sources is provided for those interested in pursuing further study.
