Nicolas Roeg directs a distinguished cast including Dennis Hopper, Diana Rigg, Michael Gambon, Eric Thal and Elizabeth Hurley in a gripping story of faith and deception. Samson terrorizes his peoples' oppressors until Delilah, a treacherous Philistine beauty, enthralls him. She cuts off his hair, the secret to his strength. His enemies bind him, chain him and put him on show. But slowly his hair grows back. With his phenomenal strength restored, Samson is ready to exact a fearsome vengeance. Color/180 minutes. Closed captioned. Not rated (parental discretion advised).
Elizabeth4 Stars Out Of 5WorthwhileDecember 21, 2016ElizabethQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4I think the movie is thought provoking and a very interesting rendition of how things may have occurred. They stick to the Biblical text, and take liberties from there. Very worth the watch. Of course it has sexual content. It's about Samson and Delilah! A story of love and lust. Sure it's not for kids of a certain age. If it was, it wouldn't be true to the story. Good acting. Fascinating story of God's choosing a sinful and weak man to display his strength and love. That's how God always works through us. For when you are weak, then I AM strong.
Rachelle1 Stars Out Of 5YIKES!February 18, 2011RachelleQuality: 2Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1The REAL story of Samson is a marvelous one. A story of God's power and strength. Delilah was well played because I'm sure she was that type of woman and although we know what takes place, this movie was not done with decency or respect towards God's Word. There was a huge story line that isn't even apart of the real story. And oh my God, this really should be rated R. Beware of the sex scenes! I regret spending money on this.

Christine Davis1 Stars Out Of 5January 28, 2009Christine DavisThis is not a Christian film, it should be rated R. I couldn't believe the sexual contents in it. I bought the Bible collection but threw away Samson & Deliah. I think this should be pulled off the shelf.
Tech10002 Stars Out Of 5October 8, 2007Tech1000Cast is great, movie is not. Characters are added all over the place that are not mentioned in the Bible. Critical elements are not even mentioned. This takes many liberties with the story of Samson and Delilah. Not recommended for a younger audience as there are some explicit scenes of Samson and his relations. It would have moved a lot faster had it stuck to the real Biblical story of Samson.
