What is the Gospel? Confusion about the Gospel is a serious problem of tremendous magnitude. It's not just semantics. It's the eternal difference between heaven and hell. But there is Good News. Follow along in this scholarly yet readable work as Dr. Ryrie carefully explains what the Bible has to say about salvation, discussing man's hopeless state before meeting Jesus, God's grace in saving us, and our call to obedience as we walk with Him. In So Great Salvation, Dr. Ryrie also addresses many questions raised by those who hold to the lordship salvation position. Does Jesus have to be the Lord of every area of our lives before we are saved? What about backslidden Christians? What is 'easy-believeism?' Join Dr. Ryrie as he studies the important topic of salvation. Discover how God's grace is all we need to enter the kingdom of heaven.
CHARLES C. RYRIE (A.B., Haverford College; Th.M. and Th.D., Dallas Theological Seminary; Ph.D., University of Edinburgh; Litt.D., Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary) was a renowned author and scholar. He wrote numerous books, including The Ryrie Study Bible, Basic Theology, Balancing the Christian Life, The Holy Spirit, Dispensationalism Today, Revelation, Survey of Bible Doctrine, and So Great Salvation, which rank among his best-selling titles.

Jeremy Schmucker5 Stars Out Of 5January 26, 2010Jeremy SchmuckerWritten very well as a defense against Lordship salvation. I agree with 99% of writing and recommend this book to every believer to help distinguish between salvation and discipleship.
Andy Anderson5 Stars Out Of 5October 26, 2008Andy AndersonSo Great Salvation received the Gold Medallion Award from the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association. Whether you are from the Lordship Salvation Viewpoint or not, Dr. Charles Ryrie should be given his due. I love the way that he calmly expounds the Word of God, and brings such clarity to this topic of Salvation. The forward written by Warren Wiersbe sheds considerable light upon this book; Dr. Ryrie writes with humility and compassion. He has not overreacted to what some extremists have written. Rather, he calmly and logically expounds the Word of God and seeks to bring clarity where there may be confusion, and gentleness where there may be harsh dogmatism. He seeks to obey the words of 2 Timothy 2:2425: And the Lords bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition. I highly recommend this significant work for your reading and your library! 5 Stars!
Christian Batcheller5 Stars Out Of 5May 7, 2008Christian BatchellerA very thought provoking and intellectually stimulating read into the seeming simplicity of the Christian gospel.
Chris Sparre5 Stars Out Of 5February 6, 2008Chris SparreGreat book!! Charles Ryrie argues for Biblical Truth especially his chapter "Repent! About What?"Sadly Mr. Rambo did not explain how Charles' book is borderline easy believism. C. Ryrie texplains that it is not easy to believe in his chapter "It's not Easy To Believe." I wish he would read the whole book...
Damon Rambo2 Stars Out Of 5January 28, 2008Damon RamboBlah! Borderline easy believism. Although I think Macarthur goes too far with his "confession of all known sin" ideas, faith cannot be divorced from action; it WILL result in an immediate attitude change.http://www.straightwalk.com
