Product Description

How do theology and spirituality relate to one another? How does the Christian heart connect with the Christian mind?

This outstanding collection of essays focusing on the relationship between evangelical theology and the spiritual lives and practices of believers includes contributions from Alister McGrath, Marva Dawn, Dallas Willard, and Gerald Bray. As these evangelical voices identify important connections between theological acumen and spiritual formation, the reader is launched on a most helpful journey, emphasizing the holistic nature of the Christian life.

For All the Saints presents a discussion of the integration of theology and spirituality, biblical and classical sources for spiritual formation, a critique of how evangelicals have uncritically appropriated the rhetoric of spirituality, and also the use and abuse of spiritual disciplines by evangelicals. Truly, a welcome volume for addressing issues of faith and knowledge in a comprehensive manner as well as for retrieving an evangelical understanding of spirituality.
