A must read for all Christians! This CD version does skip a lot of the book, but it worked well for my 11 &12 yr old to listen to it and catch a burden for the persecuted church. it's very well done and a great way for those who won't read the book to hear this great story. It might even change you!
Safely Home opened my eyes to the persecution of Christians across the world. I have been so sheltered and bothered when others don't think as I do; but now to realize in a tangible way that in many places around the world the way I think would be cause for harrassment, imprisonment and even death. I literally wept and asked God's forgiveness for making Him an American God, a God in my image. A genie in a bottle who is there to take care of little ol' me. The research and writing of this book pulls you into a world of suspense, brutality and faith that few American believers have experienced. The book was well written, and I believe every American believer should read this book. It will change your perceptions!
Absolutely a great story. One that will challenge your walk with God. To read about what our Chinese brothers and sisters endure to follow Christ will make you wonder about your own commitment. This is one of my all time favorites.
I loved the history! I first learned about Randy Alcorn through the audiobook heaven. Since my beloved 17th years old niece past away four months ago, I start reading anything about heaven. I prefer to buy audiobooks, the reason, I have more time to listen(I drive two hours every day to work)safely home was my company every morning for a week. I admire Li Quan very much!and I wish one day I can be like him. However, Randy Alcorn is a great writer, he really kept our attention, with his words, questions, everything in this history is so real For those who sacrifice their lives for "Jesus". I was choked to know how the Chinese Christian endure suffer everyday without noone stop the autorities. Beside Christian, they are human being. iI am trying to memorize the poem that Li Quan recite to Ben Field before...I better stop here!may God bless our brothers, and sister in China
