Danielle4 Stars Out Of 5Insightful readApril 30, 2021DanielleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4Very insightful, well-rounded reflections on Lewis by people who love and have in part, had their imaginations baptized by him. Each is written in thoughtful consideration to his body of work, weighing out his theology through accentuating insights and providing well-meaning criticism (some by their denominational stance others by their expertise, but all based on scripture of course!)
Though not too sure what I had in mind going into the book, might've been that I was intrigued by the collection of contributors.
Anyway, reading from the first part really fleshes out and puts into words what I've received from Lewis. Things like the awakened imagination to reality, the apologetic of longing, his approach to theology as a man of the classics, etc. There's just so much to uncover in him.
Also, was surprised to find from the ending acknowledgments that this book was published more or less as a conference book and a collection of talks given by the main speakers- a conference all on Lewis... that must've been a jolly good one!
