This review was written for Riley Mae and the Sole Fire Safari.
The third adventure of Riley Mae, pre-teen shoe spokesperson, takes her to Kenya. There, she learns about a different way of life, builds her character and faith, and faces danger and adventure. My eight year old daughter is excited to read this series, and I am happy to give it to her. The content is wholesome and is still fun and relevant to girls. Riley Mae makes mistakes but learns from them, and discovers more about herself in every book. I would recommend starting with the first book in the series, Riley Mae and the Rock Shocker Trek, to get the background on who Riley Mae is and how she found herself in this situation! This is a good choice for kids age 7-12.

We (my girls AND I!) were looking forward to #3 of The Good News Shoes series. Riley Mae and the Sole Fire Safari did not disappoint!

Riley Mae continues as a Swiftriver shoe model while.the mystery/drama continues (that started in book #1) and they are all escaping a bad guy or two! So, now they are heading with most of Sundays family (while he stays back to continue his battle with leukemia) to his remote village in Kenya.

Riley faces more danger and challenges, but has a truly amazing experience! This trip stretches and strengthens her physically as she is surprised how much work it is just to help with chores or to get to school (the cast on her arm doesnt help either!). She also grows as a follower of Christ. She even wakes up at 4:45 a.m. (though not with much excitement at first!) to join the women of the village in their morning prayer meeting. Riley matures, develops a better understanding of contentment, a new appreciation of family, and even has a new purpose as she follows Gods leading.

    Enjoy!

I love Riley Mae. Better still, my thirteen-year-old daughter loves Riley Mae. This time Riley Mae is dropped in Kenya. Boy, is life different there. Jill Osborne always takes you on an adventure from the safety of your living room. I love the way she weaves faith and depending on God into an exciting story that keeps you turning pages until the end. This is a great story that teaches girls how not only to grow and keep their faith, but to share it with others too. If you dont have a tween girl, pick up a copy for your library.

This is the third book in the FaithGirlz Good News Shoes series. It's a wonderful choice for preteen girls as it's exciting and very clean. They also have a very solid message and while they aren't short, they are formatted nicely and easy to read.

Riley Mae finds herself in Kenya, Africa for this adventure and it never slows down! What a fantastic setting for the story. She's always dreamed of being a missionary when she grows up, but here she is, being used by God already, and she learns that the 'mission field' is not just overseas or somewhere exotic but anywhere she is.

I received this book from Book Look Bloggers and Zonderkidz for the purpose of an honest review. My opinion is my own.
