heylindseynicoleIllinoisAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Love Rightstart Math!October 3, 2013heylindseynicoleIllinoisAge: 25-34Gender: femaleWe have been using Righstart to homeschool our four year old son. So far the program has been excellent. We are on lesson 18 and he has a strong grasp of his numbers to 10, even and odd, and some basic geometric principles. He really enjoys playing the games as part of his lessons and has even requested we play memory matching with the number cards when it wasn't math time (which we did, of course!). Overall, we are very pleased with Righstart so far and happy with the decision to go with this program.
ShariUtahAge: 55-65Gender: female3 Stars Out Of 5Great ideas and methodologyJuly 16, 2012ShariUtahAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 3Value: 3Meets Expectations: 2This product had a great methodology, however, not many schools would be able to teach the same. I was previewing the program for my Pre-K school. I knew with the math approach in the public and private schools here, they wouldn't be taught the same way and would have to start over in alot of ways. I returned the product for another.
luv2teach5 Stars Out Of 5The BEST math programMarch 15, 2012luv2teachQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I love this program. My 4yo son loved the games in level A. There is no better way to teach math. I have a BSEE and this is by far the best approach to all I have looked at over the yrs. Kids just love the games and it makes them love math. Math becomes just another language they speak every day. If you are not a math person, you will finally learn math and say, "I wish I was taught this way." It makes no assumptions that you, as the teacher, know math. It walks you through step by step. And the best part, it is truly fun for both student and teacher. Both of my kids say, "I love Rightstart Math." And my daughter was hating math with another program and crying every day. I have used levels A-E.
Deanne Sobolik4 Stars Out Of 5May 11, 2010Deanne SobolikGreat method for teaching math at the beginning level. There are concepts taught with ease included in this curriculum that are not introduced until second grade and beyond in other curriculums.
H. DoolittleAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5March 25, 2010H. DoolittleAge: 35-44Gender: femaleThis has been wonderful for us. Rightstart starts each concept with concrete hands on lessons before moving to the abstract. It teaches several strategies for addition, subtraction, etc. It uses an abacus with beads colored in groups of 5. This allows one to easily see a group of 8 beads as 5 and 3 without counting. The abacus has a second side that helps with place value and trading. Games vs. worksheets are emphasized. This curriculum has improved my math skills, and I had straight A's in math. I don't spend much time in preparing for the lessons. I just look ahead a bit, and then spend 5 minutes before the lesson to get ready.
