For people on-the-go who want a daily dose of Gods truth for their life.
You want to spend meaningful time each day with the Lord, but about 10 minutes into your day the demands of life distract and pull at you, and threaten to overshadow your plans for quiet time. Pastor Bryant Wright lends helpful guidance for staying focused on Gods Word and applying it to your daily living. His to-the-point messages set the tone for living as Jesus lived, no matter your circumstances.
Setting aside just a few minutes each day with the Lord can change your heart. The condition of your heart can change your day. And the outcome of your day can change the course of your life for His eternal glory.

I have been using this devotional ever since I received it. It is a very pretty book to use on a daily basis. A variety of topics are covered in this devotional include parenting, marriage, the Holy Spirit, forgiveness, prayers, tolerance, and priorities. Each devotion begins with a Scripture verse and is followed by a short, meaningful discussion.
I have enjoyed this devotional and will continue to use throughout the year. I would recommend it to others as a great way to start the day with God.

Seasons of GraceAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Start the Day RightSeptember 15, 2011Seasons of GraceAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This book is a very nice devotional; Hard back, beautiful inside and out. Each day of the year, beginning with January 1, there is a very well written devotional that can be applied to every day life. I can't tell you how many times I have opened this book asking God to give me something to help me that particular day, and He has directed me to just what I needed to read, whether it was on the right date, or maybe just a random reading. The devotionals begin with a verse and then a short story or some thought to go along with it.
It is definitely a keeper, as devotionals are one of my favorite things to collect. I love having them laying around the house to pick up and read whenever I need just a lift. I received a copy of this book free from Thomas Nelson Publishers in exchange for my honest review.
homesteadingHampton Roads -- VAAge: 55-65Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Lovely Companion BookSeptember 12, 2011homesteadingHampton Roads -- VAAge: 55-65Gender: FemaleThis is a beautiful book! From the embossed cover in a deep blue and gold to the Word of God chosen to grace each lovely designed page, beauty resides within. I'm a visual person so when I first received the book I was delighted at how much it appealed to my senses. It reminds me of books that might have been published long ago and would become treasured companions.
I love how the author has taken specific Scriptures then uses a practical example followed by application to give me encouragement in my daily walk with God. Even though it is laid out as a January through December 365 day devotional, you can begin at any point and add this in addition to your daily Bible study/reading time.
I was provided this book by Booksneeze for review purposes. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.
graceAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5useful for the busy christian!August 30, 2011graceAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I recently had the chance to review Right from the Heart by Bryant Wright through a opportunity through BookSneeze which offers books to bloggers in return for a honest review, good or bad.
Right from the Heart is a daily devotional with a entry for every day of the year. It is split up by topic and every entry has a different Bible verse that corresponds to that topic for you to meditate on. The topics range from forgiveness, to knowing your really saved, to the music you listen to, and much much more.
All are short enough that it doesn't take a lot of your day, but meaty enough that you come away with something new to chew on and to encourage your walk with God. It's the perfect book for the Christian who finds themselves busy, or pressed for an extended time to spend with God everyday. With this book you can spend several minutes reflecting on a short devotional and come away feeling as though they did, in fact, learn something. It cuts right to the chase, and doesn't waste your time.
And though I know its doesn't matter as much as whats inside, I think the front and back cover of this book are gorgeous. It's just a very pretty book, if that makes sense. A book you wouldn't mind carrying around with your Bible everyday.
MonicaIowaAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5August 29, 2011MonicaIowaAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Right From the Heart by Bryant Wright is a beautiful devotional book that offers a Bible verse and reading for every day of the year. Wright offers some meaty encouragement for living the Christian life in our world today in each short reading. He covers timeless Christian topics such as eternal security, facing trials, witnessing and just about every aspect of living the Christian life. He also offers devotions with insights on topics that relate to our world today--such as adultery, homosexuality, tolerance, pornography--and shares Scripture and a solid Christian view on these topics. Several devotions also include historical references showing the reader that some of these issues we have been dealing with throughout the ages.
I could easily read this devotional daily throughout the year and find myself challenged to live the Christian life better each day. I received this book from Booksneeze as an e-book on my e-reader device for the purpose of review. I liked having a devotional on my e-reader to start the day or to even read an extra to keep my focus on God when I had a few minutes. I also think the hard copy is a beautifully bound book that I wouldn't hesitate to give as a gift to either a new Christian or the believer that has been walking with Christ for years. The content seems to work well for both and I highly recommend this book for daily readings.
I received this book from the Thomas Nelson's Booksneeze program at no charge. I was not required to give a positive review.
