I very highly recommend Rhythms of Renewal: Trading Stress and Anxiety for a Life of Peace and Purpose by Rebekah Lyons. This is the book that my soul has been needing, because I've been battling with anxiety and stress recently. These are not new to me, but are nagging, recurring feelings that keep showing up. Rhythms of Renewal addresses the problems of stress and anxiety, but offers ways or rhythms to bring stress and anxiety to a manageable place. Rather than a to-do list that can create more stress, Rebekah Lyons writes from her heart with honesty, gentleness, and encouragement. She offers steps or practices that can smoothly flow into daily life, becoming a natural part of our own personalities.

In Rhythms of Renewal, I found a resource that will guide me toward integrating practices with real hope of living purposefully, intentionally, and abundantly; and help to bring my stress and anxiety from overwhelming to manageable. Don't miss this very important and helpful book!

*I received an Advanced Reader's Copy of Rhythms of Renewal from the publisher. I was not obligated to post a review. The opinion stated is my own. I have not been compensated in any way.*

In Rhythms of Renewal, Rebekah Lyons walks us the rhythms of Rest, Restore, Connect, and Create in an engaging and practical style. She is open and honest about her own struggles of finding rhythms. Every chapter has something challenging and thought-provoking on self-care, boundaries and rhythms. It is not a book to be read through quickly but digested piece by piece. I will be referring back to it time and again. If it is challenging finding rhythms in the chaos of life, this book can help. Dive in. You won't regret it.

For the sake of total disclosure, I am a member of the official launch team for this latest book from author and podcaster Rebekah Lyons. However, I must say if I was simply gifted this book, I would give it a glowing review. Lyons is the author of bestseller FREE TO BE ME, and has another potential bestseller with her latest, Rhythms of Renewal. Lyons is a busy wife and mother of four, so she knows about how it is so easy to get frazzled and preoccupied in our busy world and shares her hard-won knowledge with her readers. And don't get put off by the pretty and feminine-looking cover of the book --- the book can be just as helpful to men as well as women (Lyons does not favor directing her comments purely to women).

Lyons focuses on the importance of healthy rhythms in life for people and families to thrive relationally, physically and spiritually. She divides the book into four aspects of this kind of healthy rhythm: Rest; Restoration; Connection, and Creation (Creativity). Each chapter is short and easily digested (about 10 pages on average). Within each of the 4 sections, the author describes such practices as finding quiet in the every day; detoxing from technology; walking in nature; eating brain food; the power of physical touch; initiating friendships; recovering or learning a new passion (hobby or interest); and learning to play as an adult. Throughout, Lyons presents herself not as an expert or one who has "arrived" at total peace and well-being; but as a fellow struggler and pilgrim who is simply willing to leave behind old unhealthful habits for new ones that bring about better mental, spiritual and physical health. Highly recommended!

"Rhythms of Renewal" is such an insightful book. Rebekah did an amazing job of bring her message across clearly with practical application steps. I loved reading about the rhythms that should be present in my life.

One of my favorite quotes in the book:

"With a little intention and a lot of perseverance, stress and anxiety can be transformed into peace and purpose."

This book spoke to my heart and has encouraged me to apply many of the action steps in hopes to have a better rhythm in my own life. If you or someone you love struggles with stress and anxiety, I encourage you to invest the time in reading this book. I feel blessed to have received an advanced digital copy of this book. It came as just the right time.

-->Rhythms of Renewal by Rebekah Lyons is a book that explores four rhythms that contribute to the path of renewal. The four rhythms are rest, restore, connect and create. In each of these rhythms there are chapters that examine different ideas to mold these rhythms into your life. Rebekah shares vulnerable stories of her struggles and victories. She wrestles with these rhythms until they become part of her life. She encourages her readers at the end of each chapter with reflection questions that would be good for personal study or in a group discussion.

This book made me think more about what areas where I lack and how to rise up and prioritize certain rhythms that will give me peace and joy in my life. I think many people will resonate with Rebekah's message as it touches many parts of the life that we all crave. I just finished reading it, but I will be reading it again and answering all the questions and taking inventory on my strengths and areas to improve. I'm excited for my journey.
