Publisher's Description

Turning our culture's Sex in the City worldview completely upside down, Revelations of a Single Woman celebrates God's enticing, life-giving promises, even when life takes you down a path you didn't plan for. Connally Gilliam explores what it means to live in a world for which her mother never could have prepared her. Through this collection of thoughtful, honest, and humorous memoirs, the author delves into what it really means to be “the remainder” in a world that caters to couples, and what it means to be the one who lives out moral values that her peers think died in the sixties. As readers walk with Connally through each humorous and poignant experience, they will discover that God doesn't promise happiness somewhere in the future, but abundant life in the here and now.

Seemed to focus too much on wanting to be in a relationship...not a very empowering book.

Without a doubt, the most honest book I've read exploring singleness. I used to work at a Christian bookstore so I've read more than a few on this topic and always felt that they missed the mark. Gilliam's book is easy to relate to and she addresses subject matter that is typically taboo in Christian circles. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is single and wants to be engaged in their faith in this season of life.

Very interesting & insightful.Very re-assuring too. The tears and heartache never really go away, but we can live for what God has for us TODAY, with confidence in him for today and not get too tied up in knots about tomorrow.Sometimes the temptation to compromise is really great, but that is neither the correct way to go nor is it good for the long term. (nor will it bring honour to God) Thanks Connally for an insightful heart.

This book is not just for those of us who, for now, remain unintentionally single, but for anyone struggling with a deep restlessness for that good something, whatever it may be, that they long for, strive for, and hope will become a reality in this life.
