How can we understand the book of Revelation and its many interpretations? Four Views of Revelation: A Parallel Commentary covers the traditional views in an even-handed fashion. Four parallel columns present the information you need on these key views, and inform you about outstanding commentators on the book of Revelation. However, the covereage of the "New heaven and Earth" is totally one-sided: the author almost exclusively presents the "non-literal" side as if the "literal" side speaks for itself; if you take it literally, certainly there's plenty that can be said to confirm that view and challenge the "non-literal" view.
Robin5 Stars Out Of 5Views New to MeNovember 17, 2015RobinQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I found the intro, and all the leading materials very informative and well organized. The body of the work is a commentary and takes most verses (some combined for context) and explains how the four different views would address each. The layout is most easy to follow and gain new perspectives on this important book, without naming or claiming one view a 'winner' ... important to note this is not a salvation issue ... but as revealed Word, most important and often a discussion point for believers. This can assist the discussion by identifying the points of view of others and sharpen your own. Great reference.
kbhudson5 Stars Out Of 5ironicJuly 22, 2015kbhudsonQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I find it an ironic curiosity and testament to the unfortunate but constant division alive and well in the Body of Christ that one written work on the book of Revelation is larger than the whole Bible combined.
Brother Gregg has done and exceedingly good job in making a comparison of the four main views the Body of Christ holds. I believe that the understanding and unity that a work such as this could bring to the Body of Christ is a beautiful gift from Jesus to His beloved church. That alone makes this volume worth its weight in gold and Steve Gregg my newest hero of the Christian faith. As far as the differing view points and interpretations of the book of Revelation go....who cares.
