Are you looking for a devotional that will keep you focused? That will help you seek God? That will help you be open to restoration? This is the one for you! I cannot express how amazing the devotionals are. Some may not minister to you as well as others, but I promise that each one of these devotionals will speak to your spirit in some way.

This devotional does not come with prayers, but it makes up for that by having simply things you can ask yourself and/or things to do. I love devotionals that are interactive and this is one of them. John has created a well rounded devotional that helps you to transform your life and invite God into ALL aspects of your life.

Great read and totally recommend for yourself or as a gift.

I avidly read John and Stasi Eldredges' books and am excited about this 365 day devotional. John condenses Biblical truth into concise daily readings to rekindle the fire of hope and the affirmation of God's power and love for us; how we need daily reminders! The world we live in is barely recognizable from the one of my childhood, but this book reminds me to daily claim my Restoration Year through scripture, commentary, prayer and meditation.

"You, the survivor of the wreckage of Eden, have grown accustomed to living on the faintest traces of happiness." Wow! #JohnEldedge has a gift with words and a understanding of Scripture that can leave you breathless at times. The thought of becoming accustomed to faint traces of happiness cultivates many emotions. Yet, the one to cling to is the knowledge of the promise that what has been lost will be restored to those that trust, love and look to Jesus for His promised restoration. The faintness of happiness will be forever forgotten as the fullness of our happiness will be in life with our Father and Jesus. #ThomasNelson #RestorationYear

I enjoy reading John's writings because I know there always is a gem on the path not too far ahead. In Restoration Year, he asks A Question about how I am responding to Psalm 51:10, "Create in me a clean heart, O God."

"Right now, this week, what is it that you are repenting of? If you don't have a ready answer, how can you be taking holiness seriously? If your answer focuses on something external, what about the matters of the heart behind it?

Few understand the link between holiness and the life longed for.

I can't say it enough, dear friend: you were created for life, love, beauty, joy, laughter, friendship, adventure. These are the very things God wants for you. But you cannot find that life, let alone sustain it, until you're restored. The more you get to know Jesus, the more he changes your understanding of what holiness is all about. And the more you see him operate, the more you'll be captured by the beauty of his life.

So . . . what are you repenting of these days? If you don't have a ready answer, how can you be taking holiness seriously? If your answer focuses on something external, what about the matters of the heart behind it? It's worth a pause."

I love the way John takes a spiritual concept, "Few understand the link between holiness and the life longed for", unpacks it and hands it to me with the question "what are you repenting of these days?" Exactly!

This is the cornerstone of my walk with God. Pause. Jesus, where do you want to work in my life today, in this moment. I invite you in and I give you permission to all aspects of my life. Take my hand and show me your next step for me. Show me where I need to change to be like you. Walk with me through the change, lift me up and sustain me Jesus. Cleanse my heart Jesus. Amen.
