Love and Respect for a Lifetime was an excellent book. It brings out the differences between men and women and how those differences can be bridged with love and respect. According to the author, Dr. Emerson Eggerichs, women need to show their husbands more respect and women absolutely need love. "It's as simple and as complicated as that.." This is a great read for all married and even engaged couples who would like to strengthen their relationship and learn more about each other.

Love and Respect: For A Lifetime by Dr. Emerson EggerichsLove and Respect: For a Lifetime is a complied set of excerpts from Dr. Eggerichs book, Love and Respect. This book combines beautiful pictures, images, quotations and biblical references to tug at the heart strings of the reader. An easy to read gift book that will inspire both every man and woman who reads this book. This book was a surprise when it came to my door step. I thought I was receiving the best selling full length book, but this book is a gift book. Not being married, but hoping to be one day, I ordered this book because of the high regards my family had given. It was a great way of looking into the own heart, as well as the needs of a husband. I especially liked Eggerichs biblical approach to love and our needs. This was a good introduction to the full length best seller. I would recommend this book for others, especially for couples to read together!

Not the actual product I was expecting--I thought I was getting the real version of this book. Instead, I got the coffee table edition. I will either re-gift it, or if I can still return it I just might do that ONLY because I need the unabridged version. It's a beautiful book, though.

Love and Respect is my all time favorite book (besides God Word of course...), so when Book Sneeze asked me to review Love and Respect for a Lifetime by Dr Emerson Eggerichs, I was so excited! I didn't realize the copy I was getting was a condensed gift version. While it was not quite as life changing as the actual Love and Respect, it was a great refresher. I also think it would be great to give someone a taste of the wisdom in Dr. Eggerichs' wonderful book and encourage them to seek out the full book. The Love and respect principle is based on Ephesians 5:33Let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.Dr. Eggerichs expounds on how God created women to need love and men to need respect, and that by following this model we are honoring God.The pages are printed beautifully, and contain nuggets of the wisdom found in the original Love and Respect, as well as a few new stories and clarifications. The photos in this hard cover book are very nicely done as well.Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through the BookSneeze.com book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission.

Well, the old saying is true, never judge a book by its cover. When choosing a book to review, I chose Love and Respect for a Lifetime by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. Not being able to look on the inside, I had thought this was the actual 'Love and Respect' book that many people talk about and love, one that I've been wanting to read for a long time. This book is a book that would be a great gift to couples who are engaged or newly married. The cover and pages are very pretty with pictures and quotes. But that's basically it, short stories and quotes. So if you are expecting (like I was) to read the book, you're only going to get a glimpse of it. Think of this book as a teaser for the real one. It does have six different chapters: 'The Wisdom of Love and Respect' 'As Different as Pink is from Blue''She Needs Love''He Needs Respect''Communicating Love and Respect''A love and Respect that Lasts'This gift book and the real one are on Ephesians 5:33, "However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband." It is written by a Christian author and founded on Biblical principles but could still help any marriage, believer or unbeliever alike.
