MichaelIndian Trail, NCAge: 55-65Gender: Male5 Stars Out Of 5Great Read On Team-BuildingMay 14, 2023MichaelIndian Trail, NCAge: 55-65Gender: MaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5"The Resilience Factor" by Hartwig & Crump & Bird is a great title to read on improving your team-building skills and helping your team become a more cohesive and strong unit. Around 150 pages, the book addresses many topics, including:
- 8 realities of team building in today's world - I really liked the 7th reality that people are exhausted due to the carryover from COVID, work hours and environment, and other factors. The authors rightly point out that team members need to be cared for and treated as human beings instead of machines. Otherwise, words by team leaders will be empty and in one ear and out the other of team members. Churches, businesses, non-profits, etc. - are you listening? If you don't it will cost you money, time, relationships, etc.!
- What characterizes a resilient team.
- 8 steps in making resilient teams that must be covered in prayer.
- Designing and conducting meetings that members look forward to attending.
- Defining and assessing your own leadership style.
- How to pursue meaningful accountability within the group.
- Developing new team leaders.
- Questions to ask yourself about your team.
Many things I like about this title:
- Easy to read and understand.
- Relevant information on building a strong team.
- Not full of empty pious platitudes and motivational phrases.
- Very good footnotes section.
- Helpful bibliography for further study.
- Relevant and helpful exercises.
Great read and recommended.
I was given a review copy by IVP in exchange for a fair review and appreciate the opportunity.
