both this book and its prequel (A Table by the Window) are completely engaging. you meet an ecclectic family deep in their careers and relationships. without giving too much away, life upheavals suddenly change everything. must read.

While I found Table for Two taking a bit to get 'into it" I could not wait to get Reservations for Two. The characters are very interesting with story line twists I've not read before.

I actually recognized the author's previous book based on not only the title, but also the cover of the book. It was different from the first one but it was just enough alike to remind me that I liked the previous book and had wanted to read her next book. There are times where I have to google the author to be sure I remember her books, so it's always a pleasant surprise when I remember what a book was about without having to do a little reminder session!

This book picks up where the first one left off. Juliette has her plate full. She is trying to balance family life, love life, and work life. I'm pretty sure this is something we all can relate to! As if that isn't enough, a bombshell is dropped on her and her family is suddenly walking a dark long hard journey through cancer that so many people can relate to.

In my opinion, you definitely need to read A Table by the Window first. The books flow together that a lot would definitely be lost if you were missing some of the information in the first book. The characters flow from one book to the next, so this is definitely a series that needs to be read in order.

Hillary Manton Lodge does an excellent job in hooking her reader and making them have that attachment to the characters from the starting page. By the end, she has me wanting to read the last book that isn't out yet! Oh, the anticipation!

Sometimes a long wait is very much worth it. The second installment of Hillary Manton Lodges Two Blue Doors trilogy proved that to be true. Reservations for Two is a delectable tale of sweet romance, heart recipes, and family mysteries that span several generations. Plus, it has a stunning cover that Id love to slip into for a while.

As Juliette DAlisa prepares to open a new restaurant with her brother, Nico, she gets caught up in the family mysteries that unfold in handwritten letters from a couple of generations back. Will the secrets she uncovers aid her in sorting out her own uncertain future?

The thing I like the most about this trilogyso faris how Reservations for Two picks up right where A Table by the Window left off. As in, it picks up in the same phone call. I know because I pulled out my copy of book one to check. That book two continues Juliettes story so seamlessly took me by surprise. But I also found it a delightful, unique way to shift from one book to the next. Im hoping for more of that fabulous continuity in the final book of the series.

Author Hillary Manton Lodge brought more of her trademark touch of scrumptious food woven into the storyline. It was almost like a cookbook coming to life and sharing its time-tested secrets. I still love how Hillary includes complete recipes at the end of many chapters. It really is a fun bonus you get when you purchase one of her books.

Thank you to Blogging for Books for a complimentary copy of Reservations for Two in exchange for my honest review.

Wonderful book about love and how things don't always end up how you imagine they would. The story is written as a story within a story and almost how lives parallel each other. Can't wait to read the third book in the series to see how things work out. Definitely a series that you have to read in order to fully understand.
