KatyTennesseeGender: female5 Stars Out Of 5All-around good storySeptember 6, 2016KatyTennesseeGender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I enjoyed the second book in the Grace Medical Series. The plot line is very good and I like that the author tackles a relevant-to-our-times subjectbiological mothers abandoning their children. The story is realistic and emotionally evocative. As a reader, I felt very much drawn into the story.
I love the setting and how real it feels due to the authors obvious familiarity with Austin, Texas. I was able to feel as if I were right there in the city. There is a wonderful cast of characters, which add great richness to the story, also.
The faith aspect is prominent in the lives of some characters, and it is gratifying to see how God helps them to come to terms with past mistakes. Redemption is a major theme, as well as, forgiving others and forgiving oneself.
Wes is an appealing hero with a huge heartthe kind of hero we all love. Kate, on the other hand, is not so likeable initially, but that is all part of the story. You might remember her from the first Grace Medical book, but no problem, if you didnt read the first book. If you like a sweet romance, as part of a story, this is a good one.
I recommend this medical drama to all who enjoy an all-around good story.

She interweaves numerous plots and keeps the reader on the edge of our seats. I felt for Kate, so determined to keep her shameful past a secret, even though it is destroying her hope and her life. Wes was a strong, faithful hero with past hurts of his own to deal with. So many hurts and secrets. And yet, it all comes to a very meaningful and satisfying conclusion. Truth really does set people free! Forgiveness of self and others adds to that freedom. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
Debbie from ChristFocusHarrison, ARAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Not my favorite by this author, but still goodJuly 1, 2014Debbie from ChristFocusHarrison, ARAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4"Rescue Team" is a Christian romantic suspense novel. While this book can be read as a stand-alone novel, Kate is a main character in the previous book in this series. You can understand what's going on without reading "Trauma Plan," but there are some references to things that happened to Kate in that book.
All of the character were complex and acted in realistic ways. I had a hard time liking Kate at the beginning, so I also had a hard time understanding why Wes was interested in her. If he was trying to "rescue" her, I'd understand it, but that doesn't seem to be his motivation. But once Kate relaxed a bit around Wes, I could understand their attraction.
Kate abandoned her baby as a teenager, which she felt was unforgivable. The Christian element was her coming to understand that God could forgive her and use her to help others in a similar situation. Wes was abandoned in the woods by his mother when he was young, so he struggled with why his mother--or any mother--would ever abandon her child.
There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this enjoyable novel.

mduncanAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A beautiful story of God's grace and loveAugust 12, 2013mduncanAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I LOVED this book. I must admit that it was the first book I have read by Calvert, but it will NOT be my last. Calvert has written a phenomenal book that has a little bit of everything: tragedy, sadness, love, hope, and grace. I absolutely fell in love with the characters and found myself rooting for them throughout the whole story. I couldn't get through the book fast enough and now I can hardly wait to read more. Although this was the second book in the series, I didn't feel like I was missing anything by having not read the first book. I will definitely be recommending this book and author to others.
