DOGS TO THE RESCUE
M. R. Wells
Inspirational story of four footed heroes
As you travel through the pages of these beautiful stories of heroes, you'll realize exactly the faithful furry pups that risk their lives to save a human. I wonder sometimes are the humans worth it.
You find out the sense dogs really have for finding someone lost, knowing there is danger before it comes, like Volcanoes that is going to erupt, a tornadoes, earth quacks or before someone actually has a seizure coming on, they warn the people all you have to do is watch the animals smart aren't they? They are right on target when something happens. What would we do without those beautiful animals?
Psalm 23 has become my life line to Jesus. As I read this book I see through out it scriptures of the Bible after each chapter along with CONSIDER THIS which is questions for you to think of for example: You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with song of deliverance (Psalm 32:7) Then the consider question: Have you ever wondered off, like little Martha, and has God step between you and danger? Good things to think about yes?
This book not only shows how dogs saves lives and are great and smart at a lot of things it also show how Jesus helps and steps in, but it gives you scriptures and from the Bible and question for you to sit and really think about what God really does for you.
God trains these animal to help, other wise how can you account for the wild dogs that saved a baby of only a few days old from the weather and people they thought would do harm to that baby UNTIL people that came over and saved the baby the dogs just followed to the police station how smart God smart- God had the dogs there to help that baby. There are many stories just like that one, Think about it!!!!!!!!!
I recommend this book highly!!! You'll love this beautiful book well worth the drive in town just to pick it up and read it. you'll learn a lot from reading it. Grab a comfortable chair, cup of coffee and sandwich. You'll want to read it until the end.
I put the ISBN no. so you can go and find the book a lot faster!
I received this book free from Harvest House for an honest review. The opinions I have expressed are entirely my own and no one else's. I was not required to write a positive review just an honest one.
JennyBCharlotte, NCAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Great Book for the Whole Family-including teensMarch 24, 2014JennyBCharlotte, NCAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I bought this book for myself to read and enjoy, little did I know that I would be passing it around to the entire family to read and discuss over the dinner table and before bedtime. I loved how the book is broken down by chapters and stories so you can read one and then put it down or pass to someone else in the family to read. We own a dog and he is so special to our family, we enjoyed seeing how other dogs had brought value, and service to others. The dogs in these stories are amazing! Wells does a great job ending each chapter with a verse from the Bible that relates to the story and encourages the reader to reflect on their own life. My teenage daughter and son both enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it to other families with children of all ages. GREAT BOOK!

When I ordered Dogs to the Rescue, I was expecting a collection of stories about dogs working in peoples' lives. This book is that- and more. I was expecting to be touched. What I was NOT expecting, and was pleasantly surprised by, is that the author, Marion Wells, uses those stories as parables of how God works in the world and in our lives.
Whether it's a dog named Murray helping his human "mom" move on from tragedy or Hendrix, a yellow lab who's also a recurring character, rescuing his "mom" from a dangerous copperhead snake, rescuing an abandoned kitten from a forest path, a neighbor's ferret, or even a hapless groundhog in the clutches of another dog, Marion deftly links these already touching stories to stories from the Bible demonstrating God's care for us, and thereby moved me more deeply than I anticipated. My only wish is that there were more photos of the "dog heroes" in these stories.
Putting that minor disappointment aside, however, and building on the premise that "dog's love is a reflection of God's love" (even the names are mirror images of one another), this simple collection of "dogs rescuing and helping people stories" creates an unexpected but deeply satisfying "new way into a devotional". I will be reading this book again- not just for pleasure- but as a lead in to prayer.
If you've ever had a dog, loved a dog, or wanted a dog, you will like this book.
Jen PenMidwest5 Stars Out Of 5Inspirational stories of life, love and loyalty...March 12, 2014Jen PenMidwestQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4SUMMARY:
Whether it be a nursing home, a swimming pool, a correctional facility, a horse barn or even a funeral, M.R. Wells shares stories of what dogs can teach us about life, love and loyalty as well as acceptance, safety and true friendship. With a short story mingled with an example from the Bible, each piece finishes with a Bible verse and a few thought-provoking questions about our own lives to consider.
A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:
Having recently rescued my own ball-of-fur (a Great Pyrenees/ Shepard puppy), of course I was drawn to this book. Each heart-warming short story (3-4 pages in length) can be read in just a few minutes but may linger longer in your heart. Although it could be a devotional, it also reads as an inspirational book highlighting service dogs, therapy dogs, rescued dogs and best friends. As the successful author of Four Paws from Heaven along with writing for several Disney shows and PBS series, M.R. Wells again delivers strongly.

GThorsenWake Forest, NC5 Stars Out Of 5Great Devotional!March 6, 2014GThorsenWake Forest, NCQuality: 5Marion writes like I think! To me, analogies are one of the best means to teach spiritual truths. Christ Himself chose analogies many times to teach the people. Marion uses wonderful inspirational stories of our canine friends, who are heroes in their own right, to help us see the spiritual lessons God would have us to learn. This book would make an excellent quiet time source. As a middle/high school Sunday School teacher, having these delightful stories available will help to engage students. Young or old, this material is insightful, poignant and applicable for the Christian life. It is easy to read, contains scriptural references and each story ties back to scripture. This makes reading each story a great way to start your day!
