Our coming was foretold by the elders Those who would change the future, just as the planet teetered on the edge of darkness.
Born on the prophesied day with birthmarks in the form of a crescent moon, they knew us immediately. Swaddled and screaming, we were spirited away by those who hid us, trained us, and kept us safe until our time came.
They poured their lives into us. Some died to save us.
And now we, the Remnants, protected by Knights of the Last Order, have gathered.
Called until we breathe our last to save the world.

I love this new concept of merging Christian and YA Fantasy together and I admire Lisa's courage for testing the waters.
Lisa combines the power of imagination and the power of creativity with her faith in a way that just opens people's eyes to imagining a world where God isn't a myth but is a living reality. Because The Maker is in mythological mode you're able to access truth within your imagination. Truth that your mind would otherwise have defenses against.
I did struggle a little with some clarity issues. I was awfully confused at some points and currently my mind is swimming with quite a few questions that weren't addressed in the book. But it's sill a fantastic story that takes you on a wild ride and is accompanied with some beautiful messages. I can't wait to find out what comes next.
Julie GravesOklahomaAge: 45-54Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5May 6, 2014Julie GravesOklahomaAge: 45-54Gender: femaleI think that Dystopian and YA are two of my favorite genre's to read which made REMNANTS a story that I thoroughly enjoyed. From the very beginning of the book when Andriana and Ronan escape the evil forces that will haunt them throughout their journey, to the very end where we are left with many unanswered questions and a burgeoning forbidden love, REMNANTS took me on a roller-coaster adventure that has me breathlessly waiting for more!
I loved the characters of REMNANTS. Each one of the Remnants has a gift that The Maker has given them to use for his purpose. I think Ronan may be my favorite character of the group. Just because he makes such a hunky knight-in-shining-armor...oh wait, wrong era! He is Andriana's knight though, without the shining armor part. I'm kind of partial to men that protect women.
While the Remnants are definitely on mission for The Maker I did not find the story overly preachy. Spiritual forces abound in the forms of both good and evil, but it seems that evil is prevailing. I'm looking forward to book two to see what unfolds next!
Allison4 Stars Out Of 5March 23, 2014AllisonQuality: 4Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4Once again, Lisa Bergren has me hooked! This book contains all the elements of a good book: believable and endearing characters, action, forbidden love. While there has been an influx of books lately set in a dystopian future, Bergren gives the topic a different and intriguing perspective. I cannot wait for the other books in this series.
LalaAge: 18-24Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5One of the Best Books I Have Read!March 20, 2014LalaAge: 18-24Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I so loved, loved, LOVED "Remnants: Season of Wonder"! It truly is one of the best YA books I have ever read!
The reason this book is so amazing is because of the powerful symbolism that was woven into all the characters and events! I know that the book is suppose to be more of a dystopian kind of a novel (and it really is), but I felt it to be more allegorical in a sense! I truly believe that many of the things written showed how Christians are suppose to be with their relationship with God and His church! An example is how when the Remnants and knights are trained to wholeheartedly seek and focus on the Maker in all things. It doesn't matter if it's where to go, how to act, or what to say! They are suppose to seek him above all else. This is just one example out of many (I don't want to list anymore because I don't want to spoil it)! I felt that all of it was truly symbolic of the Christian faith and everything dealing with it such as the church and one-on-one relationship with Jesus!
The spiritual theme was a huge part of the novel in my opinion, but the action part of the novel was too! However it was different then a regular fighting scenes because it really lived out Ephesians 6:12 which says: "For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places."
I know I already said this in the beginning, but this is truly an amazing novel! I very strongly recommend it because there is so much depth that left me speechless concerning spirituality! If you decide to read any novel this year let it be this one because you won't regret it! It will leave you not only enamored by the storyline, but also searching the Maker and His calling for you!
I give this novel a 5 out of 5 stars!
(I received an ARC copy through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review! All thoughts are my own and I was not required to write a positive review!)
Ymallama4 Stars Out Of 5A Gripping ReadMarch 5, 2014YmallamaQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4Remnants has so much to offer: epic battles, tear-worthy moments, characters you grow to love, and heart-melting romance. It took me to the edge of my seat as I cheered our heroes on, through danger and despair. The suspense kept me turning the pages, willing them to survive to the next one!
Andriana is one awesome girl, and it was great seeing her character develop as she fought not only the villains, but the darkness within herself. She's certainly not perfect, and I love that about her.
Remnants: Season of Wonder is a thought-provoking book that I would recommend to fantasy and dystopian fans alike, and I'm looking forward to the next one!
