Tell us a little about yourself. I am a 4th generation born and raised Texan. I have been the medical and entertainment industry for many years, and most of my credits are listed under Set Medic and Senior Publicist. My late grandmother, noted Texas Poet, Ruth Christine Johnson, raised me and instilled in me the Christian foundation I live by today. I am a single mother to my only child, Jacqueline, and we both still call Texas home.
What was your motivation behind this project? My grandmother's influence and teachings lead me to writing poetry, and eventually becoming a published Writer, Lyricist, Songwriter, and Poet. We both had been ask for several years to write eulogies for funerals and speakers, of which I began cataloging our works. In compiling selections that were comforting and universal, with a focus on spiritual perceptions, I created "Remembrances From The Heart."
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? In an effort to express kind words to honor the deceased, these eulogies and poems are also written to comfort the living.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I am impacted daily spiritually, emotionally, and humbly by God's grace, but having my grandmother's and my works published in a book, was truly the highlight of my literary career.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? The Bible, my beloved Grandmother, and Author Kat Kerr of Revealing Heaven.
