DNADon2 Stars Out Of 5World Religions and CultsJanuary 2, 2015DNADonQuality: 2Value: 2Meets Expectations: 2Generally there are some quite good sections in this book. Pages 27-29 make some blanket statements that should have qualifiers. For example, I could accept that that Jesus could be the only saviour who died to make atonement for man's sins. However, scholars know that the IDEA of saviours, who died and then were resurrected was quite common before the life of Jesus. Even John the Baptist was believed by some to be a resurrected Elijah.
The Sumerians, Egyptians, and Greeks had MYTHS about resurrected saviours, before the time of Jesus.
So it is not accurate to state " Of all the great spiritual leaders--not one ever rose from the dead---"
Readers who have little background in studies of comparative religion should be informed of this.

Scott Bair1 Stars Out Of 5September 22, 2010Scott BairAlthough this book contains some correct information, it also contains falsehoods, and does not present these religions in a way that they would agree with themselves. If mixing truth and error is what you are trying to fight (i.e., in opposing "cults" that mix Christianity with false theology), then this is precisely what you need to avoid yourself also. Get the facts right, or better yet, direct people to learn for themselves from the source. Getting an accurate view of other faiths like Buddhism, Mormonism, or New Ageism from their opponents is about as likely as getting an accurate depiction of Jesus and the apostles from the Pharisees and Sadducees.
