Relationships 101 is the first book I have read by John Maxwell, and I find it quite useful. I work in consulting and have recently been made a manager. Having no professional training in leadership, I decided it would be responsible for me to educate myself. I am planning to read 5 of Maxwell's books this month, and Relationships is the first one. It talks about evaluating the strength of your relationships, how to understand people, what we need to understand about each other, how to encourage others, how to connect with others, how to listen, how to build trust, how to strengthen your family relationships including marriage, and more. As a Christian, I found the book to be spot on with Jesus' teaching. In fact, I found the material and ideas both new to me and yet familiar because of the Bible. I think the application of Jesus' teachings on how to relate to other people were made more clear to me in this book even though there are only a few references to God's Word. Overall, I completely recommend the book for anyone who has to interact with clients or coworkers regularly. I have already noticed how much more I value people through my actions and listening. And yes, in response to the previous review, the material is a repeat. The copyright page states the material for this book is taken from 5 other books by Maxwell. I think I prefer this short, brief format more, though! Easy to read in one weekend.

A good little book but mostly a rehash of material in his major books. I'm a Maxwell fan and have about 10 of his books. This one was a bit disappointing.
