  1. 4 Stars Out Of 5
    good introduction to retirement planning
    November 27, 2019
A practical guide to planning for retirement based on biblical principles.

This book is divided into three sections.

**Reimagine Your Perspective on Retirement. Is the American dream of retirement as a never-ending vacation really what God intends for his people? Cagle leads the reader in considering what better ways God might have us steward the time, talents, treasure and testimony (the four T's) he has given us.

**Reimagine Your Plan for Retirement. This section offers lots of practical advice on planning, saving and investing for retirement. Cagle briefly describes the various types of savings (IRAs, Roth IRAs, annuities, etc.), tips for investing, how Social Security works, how to know when to retire, and much more. I think he does well at giving introductory level summaries of these things, although my eyes glazed over a bit reading it all.

**Reimagine Your Life in Retirement. The last section looks at living in retirement. How can you continue to wisely invest the four T's from section one in God's kingdom? Cagle also touches on many issues particular to this stage of life, including finances, health care, taxes, wills, and leaving a godly legacy.

I think this book would be particularly helpful to people who have no retirement plan and are wondering how and where to start. The time to start thinking, planning and saving is now! It could also be helpful to those wondering what options they have for investing, or needing fresh perspective on how to view retirement.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher (B&H) in exchange for my review.

"Reimagine Retirement" is a great read for anyone planning for their later years. Whether fully retired, working full-time, or working part-time, there are some good insights whatever your plans may be. Written from a Christian perspective, the book addresses many topics on the subject, including:

    - What the Bible says about retirement.

    - Use your later years to invest in other people instead of only indulging yourself.

    - Deciding when to retire.

    - Many financial insights to consider (when to collect social security, investing, spending).

    - Financial issues to consider: Medicare, long term health-care, retirement communities, etc.

    - Using your later years for God's glory.

    - Leaving a positive legacy for others.

The book is well-written, easy to understand, and smoothly transitions from chapter to chapter. One of the features I really liked was the combination of the spiritual and practical insights - very helpful for anyone. There is much information and insights to consider when planning for your later years. On my first read I was able to learn new things and have current insights and thoughts reinforced for my later years. Will definitely read again.

Recommended. I was given a review copy by B&H Publishing in exchange for a fair review and appreciate the opportunity.
