Tell us a little about yourself. Intercessor, Pastoral Care in local church, armor-bearer for my Senior Pastor, U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era, recipient of the Global University Teaching Certificate for the Christian Service Curriculum, served as a male guide in the pro-life activities of the South Texas Pregnancy Care Center, serves in the local food pantry, a small group leader for 7+ years, a part of youth and children ministry since 1998, taught the Word since 2000, immersion in each of the 66 books of The Great King more than 30 times, and missionary trips to Jamaica, Kenya, and Mexico. Gifted with 4 children, 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
What was your motivation behind this project? An inward Spiritual urging and verbal provocation by Dr. Myles Munroe (Nassau, Bahamas, deceased) that he felt certain that the cemetery was the richest place on earth because in it were businesses that were never started, music/songs left un-penned, patents never applied for and books not published...and that was the confirming motivation for my effort.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? The certainty that far better choices and the associated excellent results can be appropriated through the renewing of the mind as penned by the Apostle Paul in Romans 12:1-2. And the recognition of the certainty that settling for the status quo will guarantee nights of tossing and turning driven by the memory of disappointments delivered daily by a forgettable, phony, and unrewarding lifestyle.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? First, I was spiritually impacted with the understanding that I was not to even suggest or recommend any lifestyle change, if I had not personally succeeded in that particular change or, as a minimum, was presently in the process of seeking victory in such an arena. Secondly, when proofreading the manuscript, I discovered that more than a few of the passages were better than I am capable of generating, hence the 3rd Heaven is to be recognized as the actual author.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? My influences have been those faithful evangelists, pastors, teachers, missionaries, and authors that stayed the course and would include the likes of C.S. Lewis, Charles Haddon Spurgeon, Smith Wigglesworth. Currently, faithfuls such as Mark Batterson, Graham Cooke, Bill Johnson, Dutch Sheets, Beth Moore, Dr. Caroline Leaf, Dr. Ed Young Sr., Dr. Charles Stanley, Dr. Myles Munroe (deceased), and Dr. Dick Eastman. Favorite artists would include Damaris Carbaugh, Larnell Harris, and Sandy Patti.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: 1. That there has never been, nor ever will be, a person that God loves more than He loves YOU! 2. You may recall that insanity has been defined as doing what youve always done and expecting a different result. Do you see a necessary change on your horizon? My favorite quote: I want to know Gods thoughts, all the rest are mere details. Dr. Albert Einstein
