This is our first year homeschooling, and i was really excited about my daughter being able to get the hands on experience. However, the book doesn't really cover anything. I was let down on the first lesson. In the teachers book it mentions some stuff, but in the student book it just goes over what happened in the experiment. We will not be using this again.
Hello all homeschooling and non-homeschoolers that are interested in purchasing this curriculum. We have been homeschooling for a couple of years now and as I stumbled upon this curriculum, I thought I would give it a try as it was hands on with the experiments ( I purchased the whole materials kit) . The pros to this curriculum would be that it has scripture values and that works nicely with the curriculum. As far the experiments those seem to be pretty basic so far they have been OK. The cons to this curriculum are the general vagueness of the information provided. There is not enough text and general information to support the experiments. For example in experiment 9 . The student is expected to label the parts of the skeleton without any provided information just a "worksheet" of the skeleton. The student is then forced to research the basic parts of the skeleton from another source (and none are provided) and complete the worksheet. Although this promotes the use of other sources I still feel it lacks substance and relevant content pertinent to the lesson. I as a homeschooling mom do not feel there is sufficient information provided for each lesson I was using a very in depth curriculum but felt we wanted to try something with the experiments kit.. unfortunately this curriculum is not on the academic level that we were used to..
While I like the premise of this book of incorporating the Bible into the science experiments, about 50% of the experiments didn't work for me even after careful and repeated reading and preparations. I even purchased the materials kits. There isn't a lot of support for these questions, either. I wish this company and product all the best and hope that they will improve and test their curriculum some more. It was disappointing for my students.
