In their book, Real Women Leading: With Proverbs 31 Values, executive sales director Lisa Troyer and chief executive officer Dawn Yoder share principles for women in the real world who want to have personal fulfillment and a meaningful impact on their spheres of influence, wherever that may be.

JCMorrowsAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5WOW! Just WOW! THEY REALLY ââ¬ÅGET ITââ¬Â!March 19, 2014JCMorrowsAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Really_ and I mean really and truly - Lisa Troyer and Dawn Yoder GET this concept.
And they relate it well too!
I have to tell you, I am honestly a little surprised that two women, who are such go-getters in life, can understand this concept so very well but they do! OH BOY THEY DO!
Lisa Troyer and Dawn Yoder understand the core values of the "Proverbs 31ââ¬Â³ woman better than just about anyone else in ministry I know. And BRAVO to them both for having the courage to step out in faith and presenting this book to a world that does not openly welcome this particular subject.
So often today, you hear the word "submissive" said with disgust or derision and that's just not how it was meant to be.
And so often today, you hear people talking about the "Proverbs 31ââ¬Â³ woman being out-of-date or totally unrealistic for "today's woman" and that just isn't the way it's supposed to be either.
Lisa Troyer and Dawn Yoder understand that. They understand the Proverbs 31 woman and who she is supposed to be. They also relate many wonderful tips and guides and suggestions for how "today's woman" can find a way to implement God's character and values in their own lives.
And I love that they both share so much about their own walk of faith throughout the book!
I am thrilled to have discovered this book! THANK YOU Litfuse! Without you, I might never have found it! And I plan to pass this book on and on and on - with the hopes that it will impact as many lives as possible!
And not just because they understand the subject but because the book is well written. The way the material is presented does not bring to mind your typical "teaching" book or "ministry resource". It reads like an interesting and fun story. We walk through Lisa and Dawn's exploration of the woman described in Proverbs 31 as they share stories, thoughts and insights about their own experiences during that exploration.
Thank you Lisa and Dawn for sharing that with the world!
Every single woman who is interested in living their life by God's principles should read this book. For that matter, every man who wants to have a Godly wife should read this book too. It will give him a good idea of what to look for in a young woman he hopes to court.
It's a terrific read, a valuable resource and an entertaining journey!
It's just a GREAT book!

bookwomanjoanOak Harbor, WAAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Ten vital values for leadersMarch 17, 2014bookwomanjoanOak Harbor, WAAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5"Proverbs 31 is really a description of every woman...," the authors write. She is an incredible multitasker and she exhibits principle and character. The authors believes God has given each of us women a purpose. We can be a woman of influence, "based on living a life built on wisdom and principled thinking and application."
The authors help us explore ten vital principles. We see how Jesus spent time in understanding people from His interaction with the woman at the well. We find key elements include listening intently, collecting and processing facts, reading body language, and developing empathy. We look at Sapphira and see the importance of honesty. We learn being honest with others involves risk and that it is necessary for continued spiritual growth.
We learn about responsibility from Martha, a take charge woman. We learn about attitude from Ruth and how it influences our performance in every area of our life. We explore solving conflict in a healthy way from Eudia and Syntyche. We learn influence from Esther, generosity from the widow and Mary of Bethany, forgiveness from the woman caught in adultery, planning from Lydia, and restraint from Nabal's wife Abigail.
The authors have included many stories of people emulating the principle being taught in the chapter. They even include some of their own experiences. They include really practical teaching. I was particularly impressed with their section on unforgiveness.
Each chapter concludes with "The IT Factor," designed to stimulate thought, conversation, and action. This study can be used by an individual or in a group setting.
This is a really good study for any woman who feels called to lead. The authors believe these ten values are essential to igniting transformation. If you are ready to be an influence for transformation in others' lives, this is a book you should study.
I received a complimentary digital copy of this book through Litfuse for the purpose of this independent and honest review.
HWalkerCaliforniaAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5being leadMarch 16, 2014HWalkerCaliforniaAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4After the first few babies arrived, I never expected to do much outside of our home. I had no idea I would be spinning wool or creating things to keep my family warm, or use those things in a marketplace setting.
I feel like I am gathering things from afar. This year as my husband decreased his pay in order to keep the ministry afloat, I generated income almost matching what his pay cut equaled. Not bad for someone who doesn't have a real job. But it has been a great struggle to find balance. Homeschooling high school students, packing lunches and sending elementary students off in the mornings, and business trips, not to mention all the "mission trips" this year, has left me feeling stretched thin.
I was able to find good advice in this book.
"Timing is truly important when we look at the context of responsibility." (Your timing, not mine)
"I've indeed been used as a vessel of created delivery, and have accepted responsibility for the seed that I carried." (as some one who is constantly in a state of creation and design, I love this line applied to more than child birth)

From The Back Cover: A must-have leadership resource for Today's Christian woman!
Today's marketplace is not always a "values-friendly" environment. Business leaders Lisa Troyer and Dawn Yoder show you that you can live and thrive in a "valueless" workplace when you live by biblical values and principles.
Real Women: Leading with Proverbs 31 Values is a must-have leadership resource for today's Christian woman. Written by women in the marketplace, Real Women cultivates biblical truth, credible relationship development, and practical application into everyday life through ten foundational principles. Once women embrace these ten principles, they will soon discover the multiple attributes of the Proverbs 31 woman in today's marketplace and learn practical ways to implement the wisdom from that timeless Scripture passage.
Women will be encouraged to develop their God-given gifts and talents in the marketplace as they live out the principles that invite others to embrace the equality-inspiring values they live by. Knowing that we are not the end users of the gospel message, the Proverbs 31 leader will find the initiative to inspire the upcoming generation to view womanhood as a gift and continue the learning process that will impact generations to come.
In ten chapters the authors examine ten values that the Proverbs 31 woman possesses and that modern women should also possess. The foundation for the whole book is the woman described in Proverbs 31, the woman that most women feel is unattainable. The authors go to great lengths to show that thinking is false, she is attainable. At the end of each chapter is The IT Factor which gives a review of the chapter, practical advice, and questions for helping to absorb and apply the information given. This is a book that all women should read and have on their shelves so that they can refer back to it over and over again. So if you know a woman this would be a great gift for them so that they can read it and benefit from its contents
