Jacob3 Stars Out Of 5Superb layout and formatting, but rather bulkyDecember 13, 2017JacobQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0The formatting and layout is superb, the formatting clearly visually distinguishes logical sections, and the layout of the lexicon at the bottom of the page makes it super quick to look up vocabulary, it is certainly a pleasure to read. The material used for the cover is greatbetter than you would expect for the price.
The only reason it does not receive 5 stars from me, is that it is so thick that it is not really portable, meaning it sits next to my bed and doesn't get around much. Thinner paper and a slightly smaller font would make it more portable, and hence more valuable.
Dr. Bob3 Stars Out Of 5A Reader's Greek New TestamentMay 5, 2017Dr. BobQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0I thoroughly enjoy the Reader's Greek New Testament. There are a few errors in the numbers used in reference to the translation notes below the Greek text, but these are not serious to someone well acquainted with the Koine Greek of the New Testament. However, I do have two complaints. First, the font size needs to be changed to a larger form, and printed with a little more ink. Some of the text is almost non-readable. Second, the burgundy "leather-like" material is very inferior, and while this volume is a nice looking book to place on the coffee table, and read frequently, it is NOT a volume to be carried to church services, or used for study in the Greek New Testament. The outer material soon begins to "flake off" leaving a rather ugly appearance. Has the latest edition changed either of these problem areas? I cannot recommend this volume in its present condition. I cannot recommend it to our students in New Testament Greek, since we do ask them to carry the text with them to church, and follow the Scripture reading used in the worship service. My copy is so unattractive that it doesn't even have the appearance of being "a Bible." I would like a new copy but will not pay the price for an edition like the one I have without some assurance that the font and the binding have been changed. Thank you. Dr. Bob
cbcarter5 Stars Out Of 5excellent buyDecember 26, 2015cbcarterQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5not much to add to other reviews. despite minor shortcomings, I have no regrets purchasing this volume. Others may be better in one way or another, but whatever minus' I find more then compensated by the plus'. Definite recommend. great price.
Dmitry Gusarov5 Stars Out Of 5May 5, 2010Dmitry GusarovThis book is great! RGNT is the best book I've ever been reading. By using this helpful resource I can now read Greek New Testament freely and learn vocab inductively wile reading . The Fonts used is great because they elegant in design and simply to read-I just like it! The appearance is very Great too. The binding is strong and cover is soft and you are able just to put Bible anywhere and book lying flat.I give it fife star and praise GOD for this helpful resource! Every one student of Greek New Testament Should have it!
Bob James4 Stars Out Of 5January 20, 2009Bob JamesWhen you take this out of the box and hold it in your hands it is sweet! The Italian duotone has a great feel and the gold edging adds that dash of elegance. The thinness also adds a measure of tactile delight. But I was disappointed when I opened it up. It is true: the font is really hard to read. An elegant font (although the kappas are horrible) but so thin it is difficult to discern the letters. The last thing I want is another impediment to my reading but the printing is indeed a hinderance. The UBS Greek Reader is far easier to read and the vocabulary notes are arranged in two separate columns making things easy to find. The Zondervan runs all the notes horizontally with no separation creating difficulty locating a reference.IF ONLY we had a Greek Reader's Edition beautifully bound like the Zondervan with the readability of the UBS! I would buy it!
