null5 Stars Out Of 5Points to what to noticeJuly 28, 2022nullQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Concise. Not a commentary. It does what says, it outlines each book and gives you the themes and some things to note as you read. I use it all the time in my bible study.

It is way too long and drawn out than what I expected. There are words for the Lord that I have never even heard of, and for that I am very displeased with my purchase of this book. The book is way too much longer than I had expected.

eimiCtAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A defining tool for biblical understanding.June 13, 2011eimiCtAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for How to Read the Bible Book by Book: A Guided Tour. The purpose and function of this book is to help serious learners of the bible learn how to read it better by understanding how the various biblical books function as smaller narratives that fit in toward the larger narrative-God's Big story. Fee offers his answers to the most seemingly difficult questions about certain biblical passages that he has been asked about (though like all books of this type of format, some answers will not satisfy); they are mostly brief yet offer surprising clarity of description, detail and deeper scholarly insight. Each book starts with 3 sections in each book: Orienting Data (like an overview), Content (what's in it) and Emphases-which is very helpful in pointing out particular insights otherwise not recognized by the average reader or easily ascertained through other books. Below these are 3 Sections: Overview, Specific Advice and A Walk Through.. Specific Advise I found to be really helpful in suggesting how one is to read chapters-more precisely. Fee notes and I heartily agree: One must read from the top-the beginning-Orienting Data (the books preliminary information) all the way through to the final-A Walk Through... in order to get a clearer, more defined and fuller sense of that book and/or the author's intended meaning, which all have the greatest intention-revealing God's plan for us.
This book is easily comprehensible to almost all beginner bible students, self readers and even for those long time believers who have never been taught or understood the more in-depth, insightful riches of the bible from Fee's insight contained in this book! Fee, as always, displays his immense scholarly knowledge and this time dispensing it quite accessibly (evenly) to all. So get more biblical knowledge/understanding for your belief/faith, your walk, and your life from this book, at cbd! who makes its purchase 'easily acceptable to all'! -
Derrick5 Stars Out Of 5July 17, 2010DerrickThis review was written for How to Read the Bible Book by Book: A Guided Tour. It's a great, simple book! 5 stars! As a missionary on the field I find the material very useful for personal refreshment/reminder of what each book of the Bible is about and a great resource for teaching others, helping them to understand God's Word.
