Jeanine M.5 Stars Out Of 5Great for Children!October 8, 2015Jeanine M.Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I bought the Read & Share DVD Bible last Christmas for my son. He loves it! He is a little sponge soaking up God's word. I teach the 4 to 6 year old Sunday School Class at church. I read/ tell them a Bible story, we usually act it out, then I show the 3 minute video clip that goes with what I'm teaching them. They are hearing it, then seeing it. It really helps them learn! I have bought several of these DVDs to give out as birthday presents to my son's kindergarten class. This is such a great ministry tool! I encourage you to buy all the DVDs in the Read & Share Collection. The DVDs are well worth the price, but if they were cheaper it would be easier to SHARE them with others.
Autumn HMuscatine, IAAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Exactly what I expectedDecember 18, 2014Autumn HMuscatine, IAAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This is not a typical reveiw. We bought this as a Christmas gift for our kids so we haven't opened the DVD's or viewed them yet, but I have viewed them before from someone else who owned them and the videos are fantastic. They tell the true Bible stories with good detail, feeling, and the sounds and views are just right. Its what I would have created if I'd had the skills and materials to do so myself.
mom of preschooler4 Stars Out Of 5captivatingDecember 1, 2014mom of preschoolermy almost three-year-old was captivated by this dvd. I like the fact that it's approaches heavy subject matter in a kid friendly way that's intense but not frightening, thorough but not dull , glorifying God all the way
my only critique is that the stories are not in the biblical order and that the transition is choppy making all the stories seem unrelated without an over arching string of meaning
TrishSugar Land, TxAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Great captivating animation for young kidsSeptember 5, 2012TrishSugar Land, TxAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5My grandkids, ages 5 & 6, loved the stories. I work with the 3yr olds at church. I first read a story from the Beginners' Bible and then play the animated story version from DVD. Very effective way to teach bible stories to the little ones!
Q: Does this include books as well or is it just a DVD?
This is just the DVDs that accompany the "Read and Share Bible", it includes only printable pdf coloring pages. The Bible must be purchased separately (CBD stock number WW308534).
Q: Why is this only 2.5 hours? The 4 volumes separately include 60 minutes of content each, so if this contains all 4 volumes at only 2.5 hours, what is it missing?
The actual episodes on the 4 individual DVDs are equal to about 40 minutes of the total content of each 60-minute DVD. The remaining 20 minutes on each of the individual volumes is comprised of interviews, "Behind-the-Scenes" clips and trailers, which are not in this set.
