Tell us a little about yourself. I have worked with children for over 25 years in various capacities. I taught kindergarten for 9 years in both Alaska and Texas and currently teach pre-kindergarten in a Christian preschool in Houston, Texas. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts from California Lutheran University and Master of Arts in Teaching from University of Alaska Southeast. I was born in New Jersey, lived there until I was nine. Then my family moved west to Arizona where I stayed until I finished high school. I love traveling and have been to many places including: Israel, Egypt, Greece, Australia, Tahiti, New Zealand, Canada, and Mexico. My happy place is the beach where I like to walk near the ocean, listen to the waves, and talk with God.
What was your motivation behind this project? The inspiration for my book came from my big brother, Dave, and my father, Ray. They were amazing influences on my life growing up, showing me great examples of people living out their faith and following their dreams. It has been a long time dream of mine to be a children's book author. I recently felt God calling me to pursue that dream and get it done. This book, and the future ones in the series, are dedicated to the memories of Dave and Ray and their battles with cancer.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I want readers to take away from reading my book the realization that even though Bible stories were written many, many years ago the lessons and principles are relevant in today's society and we need to practice them.
