Publisher's Description

Women often pack their lives with family, friends, and faithful service, yet still end up feeling empty and unfulfilled. In Walk It Out, Tricia Goyer demonstrates to women that walking out the mandates of Scripture allows God to spark passion and mission within them.

Whether believers realize it or not, God intended for them to do what the Bible says: adopt the orphan, take the gospel into all the world, and care for the needy. These are mandates that point believers down the path of true living and eternal life.

Sometimes those steps are easy, but many times they require a move outside of what feels safe or secure. When women stop focusing on their own dreams and purposes, and instead focus on God’s dreams and purposes, everything changes.

"Tricia Goyer lives a life that will challenge readers to step up and walk out faith in our homes, communities, and the world, and ultimately experience all the joy promised when we are in His will and doing His work."
—Francine Rivers, New York Times bestselling author of more than thirty novels, including Redeeming Love

"For several decades, I have watched Tricia and her family take large and small steps of faith. If God said it, they did it. Every time the results have been extraordinary. I’m so glad she’s captured the best of those experiences in this practical, deeply inspirational book. She demonstrates how, when we listen and do what God asks us to do, He always provides, directs, and blesses us many times over. If you need motivation to get your life back on the path that leads to joy and great hope, grab this book and ’walk it out.’ A radically changed life awaits you!"
—Robin Jones Gunn, bestselling author of Victim of Grace and Spoken For

"Tricia Goyer doesn’t just walk it out; she compels us to do the same. This is one of those rare books that changes you. There is no abstract spirituality within these pages. Walk It Out is practical and inspiring for every reader who needs to know what it means to follow Jesus in the everyday moments of life."
—Amber Lia, bestselling author of Triggers: ExchangingParents’ Angry Reactions for Gentle Biblical Responses

"Walk It Out is compelling, thought-provoking, and encouraging. Tricia takes readers through her personal journey to discover what it meant for her family to truly walk out Scriptures that instruct us all to care for the ’least of these,’ while inviting all of us to move away from our comfort zones and into God’s will. A must-read for anyone who needs a reminder that serving is not about a bigger to-do list or striving but about a deeper connection with Jesus."
—Crystal Stine, freelance writer, communications consultant, author of Creative Basics and Holy Hustle (fall 2018)

"Tricia Goyer doesn’t dictate how you ’should’ live by faith in God’s Word. She walks it out. Sharing her own redeemed struggles, Tricia guides your heart to embrace Jesus’s unique purposes and helps you ’take hold of the life that is truly life.’"
—Heather MacFadyen, creator and host of the GodCenteredMom podcast

In Tricia's book, Walk It Out, we get a glimpse of the way Tricia has learned to trust God at His Word, to lean into His calling on her life, and to join Him in His great Kingdom work here on this earth. You will be challenged to step up and walk out your own faith journey right where you are...in your homes, your communities, and out into the world.

Tricia shares much of her own life's stories, the failures, and the triumphs while showing us how to step out in faith and follow His voice, His lead. As she states in her book, "Everything changed when I stopped focusing on my own dreams and purposes, and instead started focusing on God's dreams and purposes for my life."

The FOR REFLECTION and ACTION STEPS at the end of each chapter give an opportunity for reflection and lend a way to be intentional in finding ways God wants you to walk out your own faith journey. This also makes it a great book for a group study or reading club selection.

Above all else, I believe she wants us to understand that walking out our faith involves far more than just reading and studying God's Word, even though it is of utmost importance, it is most effective in our daily lives when we choose to obediently walk it out in tangible ways. Dare to step up and step forward to follow God in both big and small ways. We experience true freedom in finding His purpose for our lives and daily walking it out.

I encourage you to get the book, read and reflect and let it inspire you to Walk It Out.

Note: I received an advanced reader copy from the publisher, in exchange for an honest review of this book.

Be challenged and be encouraged. That's what you can expect from reading Walk It Out: The Radical Result of Living God's Word One Step at a Time by Tricia Goyer. Powerful in its words, yet emotional in its story. Yes, there's a story in there. With authentic honesty, the author shared with every one of her readers a past, and then how she walked with God every step on.

With personal testimony, add in biblical references, and other works read, Walk It Out isn't just a memoir. It is broken into individual sections and topics, ending with questions to reflect upon, and applicable suggestions for action. It's not just a story to read, but it challenges readers to take that step in obedience towards God's plan and call.

". . . our faith journey isn't about our dreams and ideas for how we can serve God, but about His dreams, plans and desires for us, our community, and our world." (37)

If you've ever felt ashamed or afraid to be used by God, well, Walk It Out covers that too.

"John 4:18 says, 'There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.' God doesn't want to take you back to those dark places to discourage or punish you, but to express His love." (175)

Walk it Out isn't just a book to get us going, but it's a book that inspires us to do so one step at a time. Even if for whatever reason, you don't think God has any plan for you, Walk It Out will tell you differently, because each of our story is a story that God can and will use. It's heartwarming in a way and I think in all, that's what I can say about Walk It Out. Though my journey is not the same as the author, her approachable style in this book connects my mind and heart, and I'm sure it will with you as well.

". . . God's good plans are not always easy or neat, but when we step out in obedience we never walk alone." (23)

Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher. I was not required to write a positive review, and have not been compensated for this. This is my honest opinion.

Walk It Out, by prolific and award-winning author, Tricia Goyer, is an amazingly inspirational book about a woman of God who wanted her faith to go beyond head knowledge to a living faith--a faith that put feet on the ground to act, to walk that faith out. Using personal examples and stories from others as well as examples of individuals from Scripture, the author encourages believers with the message that the call of God is not for the select few. It is for everyone, everyone with a willingness to step out in faith, a spirit that is teachable and a heart that says 'I am available'. After each of the eleven chapters, readers are encouraged to ponder more deeply and to personalize the ideas presented in the chapter with Reflection Questions and Action Steps. One of the chapters I found to be interesting and helpful in a busy life has to do with creating more white space on one's calendar, not just to be less busy but to focus on the priorities that God wants us to have in our lives, make room for God to work in our hearts and lives, to help us stay focused on eternity. This is not a book to be skimmed through quickly, but one to stop and think about and then be willing to act on the things God has directed us to do. What is God saying to me about walking out my faith? Am I willing to join Him in his ongoing story, even if it means taking leaps of faith? Yes, and again I'll say yes because I know that when I leap out in faith God will catch me.

I received an advance reader's copy of the book and was not required to write a review. The opinions are my own.

Have you ever feel like something is missing in your life even though you're taking all the right steps? I have! Have you been looking for a spark to light that flame that's been dwindling in your soul? Think you've made to many mistakes to really be used by God, so you've settled... it is what it is? Been there. Do you long for a bit of adventure but the idea of stepping out of your comfort zone makes you squirm? You have come to the right "book".

This book is cut out to be more than just another notch in the book belt. It's an experience, a journey, a guide with practical advice to help you follow a more fulfilling path in your spiritual trek. This book gave me so much insight into following God's literal commands. I felt like I was just sitting across from Tricia listening to her speak from her heart, as I drank in her wisdom (and my cup of coffee).

Even after years of reading my Bible daily, sometimes it feels like there is still something missing. You know, life gets busy.... There's always so much to do, places to go, and people to see... But are we really fulfilling God's purpose for us? Are we doing His will? Or ours?

I found this book to be just the encouragement I needed to lace up my shoes and take those baby steps. So grab your copy and put on your walking shoes, because you are about to go from a stroll in the park to an uphill power walk! Your purpose in life will become clearer with each step you take.

I was blessed with a copy of this book courtesy of the author and publisher. All opinions expressed are my own and I was not required to give a positive review.

I have been so blessed by this wonderful book by Tricia Goyer! I love her passion for following God, reading the Bible, and living out God's Word! This book gives hands and legs to the Bible verse, James 1:27, "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." I praise God for this courageous author's boldness in living and preaching the Gospel in her own life. "Walk It Out" has inspired me, more than ever, to walk out my own faith in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Read this book and you will be blessed!
