The dad in that story is much like God who conspires to give us to give hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11) We fall so many times but as we continue to fix our eyes on Jesus, we are given a hope that never disappoints.
The solution to everything is not the right religion. Its not the right ritual. It is the right person. That person, for your life, is Jesus Christ. Ray Johnston
The Hope Quotient by Ray Johnston is one of books Ill definitely go back to when I need a helping or two of encouragement. Highly recommended!

First, there was IQ then came EQ and this time it's HQ that stands for Hope Quotient. And Pastor Ray believes that IQ and EQ are largely inherited, HQ, however, can be developed at any level.
I recommend this book to anyone who needs a lift in life and even for those who do not need one - yet. This material will have you thinking, highlighting, nodding, and sometimes laughing.
Pastor Ray gave arms and legs to hope. Hope is no longer an abstract noun, but practical. When you have hope, you can unleash hope to others. In the book, he outlined factors that can raise our hope quotient and goes on to write about how we can unleash hope in our relationships, career, church, and the community.
If you are discouraged, need a more positive perspective, the desire to renew your outlook or simply want to keep your hopes up - hope quotient, for that matter - I recommend this book for you to read.
