My kids are 3 and 5 and they love these! My 9 month old loves to make sounds through them, as well. We've had them for almost 2 years and they still love to play with them. They use them in the tub to blow bubbles under the water, to build "instruments," to make pogo sticks out of them-just about anything you can imagine! Unfortunately all of their play has caused some cracks in the staight pieces, not the elbows or the other two more complicated shapes. They can still be used, but the problem is that the straight ones slip out of each other too easily because of the cracks. It has helped, some, to put just a little tape on the smaller side of one straight piece which goes into the larger size of another straight piece. They stay together a little bit better, after cracking , this way. Don't misunderstand--the plastic is hard, very durable, I feel. Perhaps my kids were a little too rough when "pogoing." ;) We will probably buy more, not because they are "broken" but because the kids love them and they would love more of them, I'm sure!!!
