Tell us a little about yourself. I am an author of puzzle and activity books for all ages, including the Giant Book of Games and Puzzles for Smart Kids, The Big Book of Brain-Boosting Puzzles, Astonishing Bathroom Reader, Bizarre Bathroom Reader, Bible Power Puzzles, The World Almanac Book of Crosswords, and Masterpixels, at publishing imprints like Good Books and Get Creative 6.
What was your motivation behind this project? Coming from a family with a history of neurodegenerative disease, I wanted to do my part in helping senior adults ward off mental deterioration, while providing hours of wholesome, eyestrain-free, and faith-affirming entertainment.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? In addition to helping the solver's brain ability to improve itself, I hope the book may also be a good tool to engage in meaningful-yet-fun Scriptural conversation with family and Bible study group alike.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? This book is part of my own faith journey, moving from illustration into woodcut printmaking, and puzzle-making, using craft as a form of prayer intended to reconnect with God.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? The work of puzzle-makers Nancy Linde, Timothy E. Parker, and William Sunners comes to mind, as do reference authors Harold Willmington and Christopher Hudson. Having the opportunity to enroll in Biblicaltraining.org courses has also been life-changing.
I am also honored to count Dennis The Menace artist Marcus Hamilton as a personal friend and life inspiration.
