Publisher's Description

The Pursuit of God is the enduring Christian classic written by renowned pastor and theologian A.W. Tozer. More than 65 years later, the words Tozer penned on a train from Illinois to Texas echo across the decades to resonate with power in the heart of anyone longing for a deeper experience with God. This devotional masterpiece is at once thought-provoking and spirit-enlivening, an invitation to think deeply about your faith even as you come alive to God's presence surrounding, sustaining and--yes--pursuing you. "This book is a modest attempt," Tozer wrote, "to aid God's children so to find Him." If you are hungry, The Pursuit of God will lead you to the only One who can satisfy the soul.

I am not the right person to review this great Saint's work, even though he has been a guide for me, for many years in the way of being honest to the Word of God and recognise falsehood and unquestionable work of God as it can be used for commercial purposes by entertaining the supposed to be followers of God in His place of worship for unrighteousness gains of personal income. I could easily at a much younger age learn from his doctrines how to avoid falsehood preaching and preachers which is almost a trend of many religions as compared to Christian beliefs at present. Please make a note that I am not a Pastor or Clergyman but a Christian who love and involved in the Word of God in the Church and the Christian community. I definitely discuss Tozer's, doctrines with my Pastors and a very committed intercessionary group to which I am attached from my Church. My group and I follow and value Tozer.

For an amazing look into the purpose of life with God. I use the book as a devotional to think about God and His pursuit of man. A person must want a deeper look at the God we serve and really reflect about who He is. I have grown to love AW Tozer books and love reading in peace and quiet to drink it all in. I would recommend the book for anyone who wants a walk with God that is meaningful.

I was moved by each and every chapter, I felt a deeper reflection and a desperate need for deeper fellowship with God. All serious minded Christians should read this book several times. The writing style is a little tough in that it was written some 60 years ago, but any treasure worth having is worth the work to dig it out. Each chapter in it's own way will encourage a longing to know the Christ who died us, it calls for a greater awareness of God's wonderful gift in form of His Son, Jesus. I have purchased several copies that I now hand out and plan to continue the practice.

This was my introduction to the works of Tozer, and it was definitely an experience. Its an experience I believe every person who calls himselfa Christian should have. Tozer holds the mirror up and challenges the beliefs you cling to so tightly, and shows how you can pursue God.

Whats amazing is that, though written more than half a century ago, his words hold true in regard to the modern church and modern believers. Its a call back to what Christianity truly is. Its a call to see God as He really is.
