Pursued was a roller coaster of a suspense novel! It was absolutely packed with action. The main character, Nikki Boyd, was plunged into danger time and again as she desperately tried to solve her latest case.
Pursued is the third book in the Nikki Boyd Files series. The main storyline in this novel, which is one of a missing woman, could stand alone. Yet I believe that the underlying character and relationship growth between Nikki and Tyler would be better understood by reading all of the books in order.
This novel was truly packed with action and suspense! It was almost non-stop, yet believable. I'm really looking forward to book four in the series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Pursued, the third book in The Nikki Boyd Files, by Lisa Harris, is an edge of your seat from the first page thrill ride that will have you up all night! A plane crash, kidnap, murder and a little romance, just to name a few! I absolutely did not want to put it down and you won't either! A 5-star read!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author, but was not required to post a review. This is my honest opinion of the book.
I have really enjoyed this series, and am hoping there is at least one more. It was not obvious by the way the book ended if the series is over or not.
This book had far more mystery, suspense, and action than the previous two books. I actually feared the book was going to be slow and boring, and how wrong I was. It took a while for the action and suspense to start, but the book really took off when it did start. I found myself reading as fast as I could to see what would happen next. Bodies were piling up, and I was wondering if anyone was going to be left alive by the end of the book, but there were some.
The romantic parts of a book like this aren't always of interest to me, it depends on how the author approaches it. I found myself hoping the one in this series would work out, and it came to a satisfying end.
This book does tend to be more violent than the others, but I still enjoyed it a lot. I made the mistake of starting it on my work lunch break, and had to wait til I got home to finish it. And finish it I did. The author outdid herself on this one, and if this is the end of the series, it is a great one.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Another fast-paced adventure by Lisa Harris. Pursued is the third novel in The Nikki Boyd Files series, and I was looking forward to this one for some time. Why? I want to find out what happened to her sister, Sarah, many years ago. And unfortunately for fans like me, we will not find out in this book. I was quite disappointed as it seem we would be left in the dark, thinking this will be the last of The Nikki Boyd Files. I am wrong. The next book, Vanishing Point will release towards the end of the year, and it will finally provide answers to that mystery that started in Book 1 as a back story to Nikki.
Back to the current storyline, Pursued was intense. From the first pages we encounter a plane crash with more questions than answers as Nikki tries to find the lady that was sitting next to her. Nikki is her stubborn self when we witness her trying to piece everything together, and when lives are on the line, will she find strength to pursue or lose more than her life? Honestly, this may be my favorite one from The Nikki Boyd Files so far. It has action and intrigue with clues that scatter throughout, along with twists after twists. If you love suspense, this is one. The romance was fairly downplayed in my opinion, but I love the suspense part for sure. Now, I'm really looking forward to the next one!
Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher. I was not required to write a positive review, and have not been compensated for this. This is my honest opinion.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. Just about when you thought it would end, Lisa takes another twist with the story.
Nikki Boyd is on the Missing Persons Task Force and finding missing people is her job. But little does she know she is going to soon be looking for the lady sitting next to her on the plane. When she disappears after the plane's crash landing, Nikki becomes curious. After running into one wall after another, her suspicions are aroused. Before she knows it, she is deeply involved in the case.
Erika is on the run from her husband and supposed to be in the witness protection program, but with resources to spare, she cannot escape him for long. He continues hot on her trail all through the book. And Nikki seems to always be just one step behind. Will she find her before he does?
I have enjoyed many of Lisa's books including others in the Nikki Boyd series. She is a great author mixing in suspense, faith, and great plots. This book was no exception. Although it took a different turn than I would have expected, it still ended well. Lisa also loves to include a touch of romance and a mixture of family in.
I was blessed with this book free to read from Revell. I was not required to review this book positively.
