As the only female in the family, I chose the pretty cover one. The guys have the same book with a simple black cover. We read a chapter and highlight things that stood out to us on the blank side. Then we share what stood out to us. This has worked very well. The book encourages interacting with the text with the blank pages.

All the journals I have ever purchased have had lines, though I was vaguely aware that some do not. So, just a caution for someone else--don't expect lined pages. I will pass this on to a family member who likes to draw and perhaps she will enjoy this portion of a journaling Bible.
