I highly recommend this newest offering from Dr. Cindy Trimm. Her writing keeps people at all levels engaged and inspired. She is down to earth and also heavenly minded. I loved everything about this book, except possibly the title, only because of the use of the word prosperity which has a negative meaning in the minds of some who associate it with the prosperity gospel, This book is definitely not to be confused with that kind of gimmicky name it and claim it mentality. This book shows the reader gateways into living life based on sound wisdom so that the total person, all aspects including the soul, thrives.
I have plans to share this book with a friend with whom I did a previous study of the 40 Days to a Joy-Filled Life by Tommy Newberry. We loved that book, and I found this book to be similar in inspiration and motivation, Dr. Trimm included a quote from Tommy Newberry so I knew I had a winning book when I saw that. If you need a book to help pump you up to make positive life changes, this is that kind of book.
Since my husband owns a tax prep/accounting business, I will recommend to him that this book would make a great giveaway to year round clients. I can see this book being utilized by businesses for that purpose. Wise clients are more likely to remain clients as their businesses thrive.
I thank bookfun.org for giving me this book in exchange for reading it and posting an honest review. I previously read another book by Dr. Trimm, Push, and it was wonderful, too. That review is posted in case you would like to see another opportunity to learn from this teacher of wisdom who has a tremendous heart for the public she serves.

She writes to inspire, encourage, and empower the reader to live and love from a pure and prosperous heart.
I was personally challenged to answer some tough questions: What is Gods call on my life? Can I envision His destiny for me? What is my motivation? What drives me? What am I pressing toward? How do I want to finish well?
The book is divided into two parts. Step by step I was able to formulate an action plan for determining answers to my questions as I followed Dr. Trimms insightful instructions for initiating a fundament change of heart. (Part one). In Part Two: I was challenged to embrace the 40 principles and practice for a more prosperous life.
I am eagerly looking forward to completing the Study Guide and devotional Interactive Guide to Living a Richer Life, as well as going through the DVD study that reinforce the principles introduced in this book.
The Prosperous Soul is packed with amazing insights, practical instruction, and logical conclusions for finding completeness in each of the eight realms that make up wholeness or wholeheartedness in the Christian Life.
A complimentary copy of this book was provided for review purposes. The opinions expressed are my own.
bookwomanjoanOak Harbor, WAAge: Over 65Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Concentrates on inner characterMarch 16, 2015bookwomanjoanOak Harbor, WAAge: Over 65Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5The life of our soul is very important, Trimm writes. She wants each of us to have a prosperous soul. This is the third book in her series on the vitality of the soul.
She lays a foundation of investigating what true abundance and prosperity mean. She concentrates on the inner attitude rather than the accumulation of stuff. She encourages us to make the decision to hope, be joyful, be grateful, be expectant.
What follows are forty chapters looking at the various aspects of the soul and how to make each of them flourish. She has grouped the chapters around the eight realms of life: spiritual/physical, emotional/intellectual, vocational/calling, relational/reputational. She also covers the eight human drives that coincide with the realms: the drive to be safe, to know, to be known, to bond, to grow, to be recognized, to achieve, to acquire. She adds the corresponding hallmarks of an empowered person: feeling loved, energized, supported, respected, contributive, sense of meaning, connectedness, ownership.
I really like the way Trimm has written this book. I like it that she does not emphasize the accumulation of money or stuff. She concentrates on how we build a prosperous soul the way God wants, not what man considers prosperous. Trimm lays a foundation with an emphasis on grace, the importance of Bible reading, prayer, meditation, fasting, etc.
I was surprised with some of her suggestions like creativity. The world needs people who are obsessed with pursuing God and His witty inventions in order to solve real-world problems. (107) I really like that. And how about a chapter on study? Don't be afraid to explore new topics. (110) As a life long learner, I love that!
Other chapters include joy and peace. Others are on fortitude and tenacity. I really appreciate Trimm writing about having grit. She writes, ...the pursuit of God is not for the faint of heart or the fickle. (142) How about a chapter on self-control, kindness, and service?
I really liked Trimm's book. Hers is a fresh voice on what it means to be prosperous. This book will help readers concentrate on developing the kind of character God desires rather than accumulating wealth man desires. It can be used as an eight week study or a forty day devotional reading.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through The Book Club Network for the purpose of an independent and honest review.
