Praise for The Next World War
"The Next World War is based on one of the most fascinating end-times prophecies. Grant Jeffreys well-researched and well-written explanation of Bible prophecy makes his timely description of todays events in the Middle East a must read for anyone who cares about what is next on Gods prophetic calendar."
Dr. Tim LaHaye, prophecy scholar and co-author of the best-selling Left Behind series
"Grant Jeffrey knows history, prophecy, and the Middle East. His findings will stir your soul with the anticipation of the coming of Christ in light of the coming crisis in the Middle East."
Dr. Ed Hindson, assistant chancellor, Liberty University
From the Trade Paperback edition.
Steelfaith3 Stars Out Of 5Some ErrorsFebruary 22, 2016SteelfaithQuality: 3Value: 3Meets Expectations: 3Not sure why all these authors that write about end time prophecies always want to associate Gog and Magog with Russia. My friends, most everything else in this book is accurate but Gog and Magog are NOT Russia. The Bible tells us right after Gog and Magog that Meshech and Tubal are included in that judgment from the book of Ezekiel. It's true Gog and Magog are not located on any map BUT Meshech and Tubal are in modern day Turkey. Turkey is true north of Israel. The king of north is NOT a Russian leader but a Turkish leader. Most probably the current Turkish President Erdogan is the man of sin or his next successor. Please do not be misled though. Russia is NOT Gog/Magog. Otherwise, aside from the mentions of Russia, this book is a great read and full of interesting insights.
ldesherl4 Stars Out Of 5The Next World War by Grant R. JeffreyDecember 5, 2014ldesherlQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4This book is one on the "last days," written by an author who believes that we are living in the days before Jesus' Second Coming. In the earlier part of this book, he focuses on radical Islam and informs us about the roots of this hate between Arabs and Jews, based on the Scripture and also from history. Jeffrey also tells us about Islam itself and quotes from the Koran. He then discusses the events surrounding September 11 and gives his evidence about his strong conviction that Saddam Hussein was behind this September 11 attack on the US. He details why he holds the conviction that Saddam Hussein had Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD. The book, obviously in support of Israel and against Palestinian statehood, asserts that we can tell that "the last days" are upon us because of rampant anti-Semitism. This book, well-researched, has four appendices, one devoted to the author's assertion that Saddam Hussein had WMD. Jeffrey provides notes and a bibliography.
This book was what I expected, a book about end times prophecy. As a person who has never been particularly passionate about end times prophecy, I found the book only mildly interesting. But many of the facts presented were a good source of information. As a non-Muslim, I was helped by basic facts about Islam and its history. As this book was written during the Bush Presidency and five years after the September 11 terrorist attack, I read it in historical context. I fear that this author, in his strongly pro-Israel and anti-Palestinian state stance, may be adding to the already harsh plight of Christians in the Middle East. Plus, he may be inadvertently opening the door to "Islamophobia." I did not know what to think about his assertion that we "have solid evidence" that Saddam Hussein had WMD. That's because he provided documentation to back up his asstertion. If he did and the second war in Iraq was justified, by has the situation in both Iraq and Syria gotten so horrific that it has produced ISIS (Islamic State Iraq Syria)? Why is it that ISIS terrorists have been brutally murdering men, women and children? Why is it that the plight of Christians and other religious minorities is even worse in Iraq than it was when Saddam Hussein was in power, according to human rights advocates? I'm glad that the Gospel is clearly presented at the end of the book, unlike in many Christian books.
I recommend this book for anyone who is interested in the end times. Pastors may want to read it to gain a better idea of some perspectives on end times, despite its bias. I especially recommend this book for non-Christians who are interested in Islam, Middle East concerns and current events. They will be presented with the clear Gospel of Christ and be challenged to call on Him as Savior and Lord. This book is meant for niche readership, not for general readers. I doubt that the book would interest many demographics unless Middle East concerns and end times prophecy is of interest to them. But I recommend that this book be read with this author's own bias and its timing of authorship, in mind.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through Blogging for Books in exchange for an honest review.
Heart2HeartVictorville, CAAge: 45-54Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5What prophecy reveals about extreme Islam and the West!December 1, 2014Heart2HeartVictorville, CAAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4For those of you that follow my book reviews, you know I am a huge fan of anything relating to Bible Prophecy. In fact, that is how I became a Christian by wanting to know about End Times, the Rapture, and the Apocalypse. I was very interested when I read the back cover of Grant R. Jeffrey's book, The Next World War. "The escalating terrorist attacks in the Middle East and in major cities in the West are not isolated acts of extremism. They are the first warning shots fired in a coming world war."
In this book I wanted to know how the events that have been happening around the world and more importantly what has been happening in America have to do with getting the stage set for a third World War. From the events of 9/11 to the recent outbreaks with ISIS, I was hoping to find some connection with the Bible. This is a great resource for understanding the Muslims and the religion of Islam, including the motivation of Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein. Since the book was released in 2006, it is a bit dated and doesn't include things that have happened since then. I believed this was a more current book on events happening in the Middle East.
It does detail the events from 9/11 but I was a bit disappointed to the extent in which it covered Islam and how people are taking the text from the Koran (Anglican translated) which I believe should be Qu'ran. I was hoping for more of a Biblical reference but instead found lots of references from the Koran instead. There were references to the prophecies of Ezekiel and Daniel but for the most part it dealt heavily on the history and rise of Islam and how it is impacting the world.
The last few chapters deal with the Biblical implications about where the world is headed along the path of prophecy with the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem and the organization of the Sanhedrin which will be responsible for the Temple duties. I think this would make a great reference for those wishing to understand the possible motivation of extreme Islam and how it could affect the world if it goes undeterred.
I received The Next World War by Grant R. Jeffrey compliments of WaterBrook Multnomah Publishers for my honest review. In exchange for a free copy of the book, I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review and the opinions are my own unless otherwise noted. There are some references to the Old Testament and why there is such conflict between Israel and the Middle East, along with cross references between Old Testament names of ancient cities to their modern day possible countries which help readers unlock some of the mystery surrounding Ezekiel 37 and 38. For the most part however, for me, it remains a book dealing with understanding the Muslims and their Islamic religion, its origins, and how it might impact the world. For me, this one rates a 4 out of 5 stars.
