Cycle Three of the Harbingers series offers more suspense, more chills, and a deeper look into the battle for light in a growing darkness.
In Myers's "Leviathan," the team heads to Hollywood for a taping of the new TV pilot, Live or Die, the Ultimate Reality. Little do they realize the depths of darkness they are about to enter--a darkness that, unless they stop it, will soon spread across the globe.
Frank Peretti's "The Mind Pirates" offers a rousing story featuring bizarre visions and memories of a murder, a kidnapping by 17th-century pirates, and an earring with mysterious powers. The team must overcome the ruthless scheming of an evil, hidden nemesis.
In "Hybrids" from Angela Hunt, the sight of two children chills the team to their bones. Seeking rest and relaxation, the four friends must instead find answers to the arrival and mission of two mysterious black-eyed children.
In "The Village" from Alton Gansky, a visit to a guarded and secretive small town in North Carolina becomes the most challenging mystery they've ever faced--as they race to solve a problem they barely understand before time runs out.

With four different writers taking on the roles of four different characters and creating "episodes," you would think that there would be major problems. Not so with these professionals! Each character is clearly portrayed apart from the others, yet tied to the other characters in a seamless way. "Leviathan" was the hardest one to follow, but I still enjoyed the overall story. I love this concept that these well-known authors had to collaborate on this project, and I look forward to continuing to follow this series.
*I received this book in exchange for my honest opinion from Bethany House.
The Consulting WriterAge: 35-44Gender: Female4 Stars Out Of 5The Village Was The Best!January 25, 2018The Consulting WriterAge: 35-44Gender: FemaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4When I saw this book up for review, I jumped at the chance simply because I know Frank Peretti from This Present Darkness and Piercing the Darkness. Anyone that enjoyed books on the supernatural and, specifically, the warring between angels and demons, would enjoy those two books. This was why I was interested in the HarbringersSeries. Let me say right now that it would be best to start from the beginning. I missed the first two and am reviewing the third. Though the stories can be read as a standalone, it would be nice to read from the start so as to get a better sense and introduction of the characters and their relationship to each other. So let that be a warning to any new readers out there: you'll probably want to start with the first in the series.
Still, it didn't detract from the story. And though I wanted to read it for Peretti's story, I found that I enjoyed all of them. I think these books would be great for Middle to High Schools, as well as adult reading. The characters range: The Professor, who ends up taking an almost father figure role to the group. Andi, the book-smart girl whose wit develops thanks to Brenda. Brenda, the street-smart chick with a side of snark (loved her) and her adopted son, Daniel, who can see otherworldly creatures, and then Tank, the emotionally stable, highly supportive strong, but not necessarily silent type guy that doesn't mind showing a bit of tenderness when the need calls for it. Someone has sent this unlikely group to various locations in the last few books, and each time they experienced extraordinary and frightful things. Each time, they discover the involvement of one sinister organization, The Gate. There's nothing really too scary or gross in the stories, and no bad language either. While one of the characters is a Christian, the others in the group aren't, so readers that prefer fiction that doesn't preach to them will be safe with these stories. Of the four stories, I think my favorite came down to Hybrids and The Village, though I ended up liking The Village the best. Hybrids had black-eyed creepy kids. The Village had warnings of "don't go out at night" and "don't even look out windows". Spooky. Readers Middle school and up will enjoy these stories. I recommended this books (the entire series) as a fun read for fans of SciFi and thrillers. I received a complimentary copy in exchange for my honest opinion.
LorettaDallas, GeorgiaAge: 45-54Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5An eerie, plot twisting, fun read!January 21, 2018LorettaDallas, GeorgiaAge: 45-54Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5My favorite author Quartet has done it again! Eerie, plot twisting, humorous, absolute fun to read novel about the supernatural.
This is book three (I would recommend reading the first two in this series first) in the Harbingers series, it starts off "bumpy" literally, and scary. The four authors harmonize their writing for each chapter, but write each story separately from each of the character's point of view, interweaving their story lines, into a smooth continuation in each chapter. The characters are delightful and funny, and you never know whats "around the corner" with the plot. Their writing styles fit together like LEGO blocks, forming a wonderful read. I think you will enjoy this series, and I highly recommend it to those who like suspense, mystery, supernatural thrillers, or who have been a fan of each of the four authors, Bill Myers, or Frank Peretti, or Angela Hunt, or Alton Gansky as I have been for many years.
I received this book from Bethany House Publishers in exchange for an honest review, and honestly, I can say this series is a great read, hope this series continues because I can't wait for the next one.
debsMaineAge: 35-44Gender: female3 Stars Out Of 5Probing ~ Myers/Peretti/Hunt/GanskyJanuary 17, 2018debsMaineAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 3This is book #3 of the Harbinger Series. I was excited to read this book because it is written by my favorite authors, however, I was disappointed because you really need to read book #1 & #2 to understand what #3 is talking about. The format of the stories are each book written by one of the authors and involves the team with a sci-fi / mystery type story line. These stories are for those that are into a story with using your imagination and being able to go outside of the box.
I would recommend only reading this book if you have read the others first. I was totally confused reading these stories by some of the side stories, however, I am sure if I do read the others, it will all tie into this book. This book was a fast read and is the format of 4 so called episodes in the book, with all 4 different adventures.
Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through Bethany House. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commissions 16 CFR, Part 255: Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.
Angela5 Stars Out Of 5ProbingJanuary 13, 2018AngelaQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4I have purchased many books by each of these authors (Bill Myers, Frank Peretti, Angela Hunt and Alton Gansky) and I was not disappointed when the collaborated on this series. I loved the suspense, spiritual battle and the awareness that we have spiritual gifts designed to be used to set the captives free. I was a little surprised by the disappearance of one of the team members and hope future books will bring this character back. I would recommend this entire series to those who love suspense and the workings that goes on in the spiritual realm. This is an awesome series and I purchased all the books in this series.
