Publisher's Description

The Princess Guide uses fairy tales—specifically the stories of three  princesses (Snow White, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty)—to inspire young women to dignity, femininity, and fervent faith. With a timeless yet relevant voice, it explores  issues important  to  women  today. Scenes from the fairy tales are the backdrop for a new way to look at beauty, vocation, sexuality and chastity, modesty in fashion, and friendship. Personal stories and passages from Scripture, the wisdom of the saints, and the Catechism of the Catholic Church help you discover the princess within.

Editorial Reviews

"The Princess Guide has a message for every young woman: There is hope for being a princess, your standards can be set on the stars, and God has a plan for your life. Moms, grandmas, aunts, and women, you need to read this book, too, because that glass slipper isn’t unattainable and the hope of a sparkly ball gown isn’t impossible. Remember the hope you felt as a little girl? It’s revived in the pages of The Princess Guide in a wonderful way." — Sarah Reinhard, author of A Catholic Mother’s Companion to Pregnancy

"What does it mean to be a princess? And why do countless little girls, regardless of time and culture, long to become one? In The Princess Guide, Jennessa Terraccino helps readers discern that being a princess is about much more than finding Prince Charming and living happily ever after. It’s about becoming who we were all made to be: daughters of the King. This book connects the dots between little girls’ fantasies and grown women’s desires, finding kernels of truth at the heart of familiar fairy tales. For parents wondering what to make of their daughter’s princess obsession and for young women wondering when their prince will come, The Princess Guide weaves timely insights into timeless tales about the feminine vocation and the search for true love." — Emily Stimpson, author of These Beautiful Bones: An Everyday Theology of the Body

"Young women are thrust into a culture today that’s eager to push the boundaries of previous generations. With progress has come great license: the guardrails have come off, and girls have little to help them navigate the turbulent waters of adolescence and early adulthood. The Princess Guide serves as a manual for young women longing to find relationships that last, where they are honored and cherished without having to compromise their dignity and inner beauty along the way. Used as a reference or read straight through, the author propels the reader with the fuel of her ’theology of fairy tales’ to embrace her unmistakable role as the princess of her own unfolding tale." — Elsa Rose Hoffmann, executive director of Pure Fashion, Washington, DC
